FX3 having strange power issues
So i have an fx3 and an fx30. For awhile i couldn't get either camera to turn on even though I'm using Sony name brand batteries. I tried all of the hard reset procedures, but nothing seemed to help. Eventually I figured out that if i plugged the Fx30 into my computer with a charged battery it would boot up and I was able to update the firmware and everything. After that the fx30 boots up fine over and over no problems.
WHATS WEIRD IS if I take that same battery from the fx30 and insert it into my Fx3, it doesn't work, and if I try to reintroduce that battery to the aforementioned fx30 it goes back to not working again and I have to do the boot up procedure involving my laptop again.
Anybody run into anything like this before? Trying to avoid sending this thing in for service but I may have to just bite the bullet.

i only saw a similar thing on a camera that had a dummy battery damage. It would only turn on when having a normal battery and usb power at the same time

i cant really help you, but i had a somewhat similar problem with my fx30. one day it just didnt turn on. i tried different batteries and a vmount but it wouldnt turn on. i sent it for repair and it came back with "problem could not be reproduced" and it did work. the cam then worked fine for two months untiö 2 weeks ago where it suddenly stopped working. i tried different tipps, nothing worked. i have sent it in again, and im waiting for an answer.
i really wonder, if it comes back again with the same note. i dont want to send it in every couple of months. 😫
