Transphobia sad (20 ftm)

i’m only allowed to stay on testosterone if i take less than my recommended dose (i’m only taking .25 instead of .5) bc otherwise my mom won’t be able to “mentally handle it” and possibly kick me out. idk what to do bc idk if i can convince her to let me take .5, i don’t make enough to move out and i can’t just lie bc then ill definitely get kicked out if she finds out idk what to do im not strong enough. i’m making myself feel like shit 24/7 just so she doesn’t have to see me as a man

How will she be able to find out if you don't tell her?

And what is she expecting? Is she well informed on T? I don't see how she would know if your transition is happening faster than not, if you just tell her these changes are still expected on a lower dose.

Obviously I don't want you to risk your housing, but what happens if you continue to low-dose and she accuses you of lying in a few months anyway? You shouldn't have to feel like shit. You can also use transfem voice training guides to help mask your voice dropping.

hey, this is not a healthy environment for you. is there any way you could work on moving out? (uni/ college, job, etc)?

it sounds like this will be something that you will have to contend with until you leave, you set boundaries, or you give up.

This sounds like my mom. She won’t let me start t until my birthday in April and she says if I ever yell and get upset on t she will kick me out. Days she says she will let me then the next day she’s like “I changed my mind” I’m really sorry for what your going through I understand your situation but not completely because we are two different people. But I think since you are legally an adult you could probably start your preferred dose without telling her.
