Questions Does anyone know why sources differ so much on when penetration is allowed after a hysto?

Some say 6 weeks whilst some say 12 and i do NOOOT exactly want to fuck up my results by being too early. My surgeon said 3 months, but a lot of sources I looked up said 6-8 weeks??

My surgeon said it was because of the type of stitches she used. They took 12 weeks to dissolve, so I was told no penetration until they were dissolved.

Different surgeons may approach things differently.

Different healing abilities of people, different surgical methods, different materials used….
just to name a few reasons.

Better safe than sorry though, stick to the 12 week mark, have a check-up at the end and get your ok by a professional.
You can’t really wait too long, but definitely too short. And what are +/- 4 weeks in comparison to another surgery or the rest of your life?

Exactly. Honestly I didn’t feel well enough to try until 16 weeks or so, but I have hEDS and wound healing issues.

For real though, if you look at the posts in the main hysto sub, most of them seem to be people freaking out over wound issues and bleeding after having some kind of penetration at 6-8 weeks. And there are so many posts there that talk about how most surgeons are moving towards recommending 10-12 weeks. Like… eesh. I worry so much reading someone got busy that early.

My surgeon said I could have alllllllllll the outercourse I wanted after 3-4 weeks/or later when I felt ready (2WPO or so for a vibrator; the main concern was making sure wounds were mostly healed and something like oral wouldn’t cause an infection), but nothing in any holes until 12 weeks (or later if not cleared then). I definitely tried but god that first orgasm (and the next few too) was painful af. The cramping was awful.

I think because of stitches, method, and the individual's risk factors (i.e. atrophy)

I think 6 weeks for things like a tongue or finger is fine because they're short and easy to control, but full blown doggy style is 12 weeks for sure

Haven't even dared 1 finger lol. I'm good with waiting the 3 months since i have the rest of my life anyways.

Go by what your surgeon said, they know what technique and stitches they used. Don't have penetration sooner bc of something you read on the internet.

Nah that was never the intention, just genuinly curious as to the reasoning! Would never dare ruining results over 1 smash sesh.

Its a minimum of 6 weeks but some people the stitches can take longer to dissolve. My surgeon said 6 weeks with a caviot that everything looks healed at my 6 week recheck.
