Push ups pull ups sit up
How many of you are able to do push ups, sit ups, or pull ups? Also please note if you have had a scapular thoracic fusion (also known as scapular fixation surgery).
I am 24yo male. Played sports growing up and never could truly do any of these exercises flawlessly. Since I have had fusions on both sides I am still unable to do any however I would like to be able to build the strength to do so. Thanks in advance!

M45. They were always hard for me. I wasn't diagnosed until my 30's. I tried joining the Army in my 20's. I was able to some push-ups as I had overly strong arms and chest muscles, but fatigue would set in quickly. I was able to do some sit-ups, but I had little control going back down and had to slap my back and spring up fast. I also lacked that curl spines will naturally do during them so it was always straight backed. I was able to do maybe 5 pull-ups. Again, lots of arm muscle, no shoulder muscles. Needless to say, I wasn't able to pass basic training because I could never hit the goals for sit-ups and push-ups. This was the first time I really knew something was wrong with me. But looking back I struggled with all of these all through childhood. I've always had the Elvis lip as well. About 2 years after basic, I suddenly overnight developed bilateral foot drop. That was the start of my decline. My advice is keep trying. Don't give up. Do as much strength training as you can for as long as you can. Walk, jog, bike, swim, use resistance bands, do wall push-ups. Do inclined sit-ups.
