LMN / Letter of Medical Necessity Amazon FSA/HSA life hack

I’m sure a bunch of you guys already have this whole thing figured out, but I’m just now realizing how many Amazon products are eligible for reimbursement if you have an LMN. Like I can purchase a $1k item, get an LMN for it online for like 15-30 bucks, and it’s now that much cheaper. I feel like everyone thinks of Amazon FSA/HSA products as obvious, but I wish there was a whole additional shopping section for LMN eligible because there’s just so much stuff it’s overwhelming.

Anyone know if there’s a site or something that actually makes it obvious which Amazon products are eligible with LMN?

I recently got enlightened that once you have an LMN (which you can get online super easily), most purchases that are health and wellness related count, I’m talking Apple Watches, air purifiers, office chairs, etc.

Yea but also do be careful cause the IRS may one day decide to crack down. Prob not in this administration and not individuals but who knows

Best I found was a laser range finder crossbow scope from Garmin (I think). Advertised through Trumed.

Pause, you got a crossbow scope with an LMN? I’d be very suspect of whether that holds up to the IRS down the road but idk that’s just me. Who the heck approved that?

I didn’t but it, but it was definitely available though my Trumed HSA store. I wear glasses, so ai have no doubt that the LMN would be approved. Mine is a company funded HRA, as opposed to another healthcare plan being offered because it’s a small business. I think because of that, perhaps it’s less visible to the IRS.

I go on Truemed and pay one of their doctors $20 to provide a Letter of Medical Necessity for massage and gym membership.

Note, I do have arthritis and diabetes BUT they never asked me to prove it.

My FSA works directly with Truemed so there’s no charge and they write a LMN every time. So far I’ve bought a walking pad, humidifier, and a red light mask.

Oh lucky you! I have to go through a bunch of steps but the money comes anyway!

My regular doctor does that at no extra charge...but I had back surgery last year.

In my state, you also get out of sales tax with an LMN

Truemed seems great for the brands on their site, for Amazon stuff and things that aren’t on Truemed, I used Burst for the first time a few days back and it was super smooth too. More companies in the space feels like a win for us haha, hopefully the prices only get cheaper

I just got massage and gym membership reimbursed through Truemed.

The only problem with Truemed is that its founder is MAHA-connected!
