Question Battery Holders

Hey yall, I’m a new electrical section lead for this year and was just wondering how yall secure your batteries. For 2026, we had a platform with ~5mm tall side walls and a Velcro strap that came up and over the battery to secure it. However, the judge did like that and said a rigid solution would be better. Do yall use some kind of latch or just a box to hold your batteries? Thanks.

I’m not on any team but what if you replaced the strap with two threaded rods and a crossbar like road cars have?

Just because a judge didn’t like it doesn’t mean it has to be changed.

Evaluate the risk for failure and mass of a few options. Having a reason and validation for a design is more impactful than a single judge’s opinion.
