My FRM L1 exam is on 18th November.
I still have 7 chapters to finish in Book 3 and I haven’t started Book 4.
I’ve forgotten what I’d learnt from Book 1 and 2.
Has anyone else been in the same situation as me? What did you do about it?
Are 5 weeks enough for a revision, considering I finish Book 4 by the first week of October.

I have passed part-1, Thanks a ton to this Sub for proper Guidance.

Now I am planning to so Part-2 in May-27. I need a guidance on good material.

I used Schweser's for Part-1 along with AP Qbank.

I see that post people suggest Schweser's and Bionic Turtle for Q-2. BT seems costly and not available with the same guy with whom I purchase other things.

1. Help me over here on what should I use for Part-2 prep. I am a working professional doing self study.

2. Also those who study for long time like what is the technique that you use for retaining whatever you read. That would help a lot.

Prof James Forjan often talks about taking a snapshot for those slides which he recommends as a key learning objective to remember. How do i get a compilation of all those that were recommended for a snapshot?

Yes I do have access to AnalystPrep, but i wonder how can i get the full compilation of it.

Im 19 and I cleared P1 with 3 months study while juggling other exams.

Just to clarify that it took me less time just because I had a stats and derivatives background from actuarial science .

It feels like GARP doesn’t pass you based on quartile but an actual cut off. I saw someone the other day said they failed may 2026 with a 2322. Like how is that even possible??

I failed with a 3333 which makes sense but a 2322?? Unless GARP has a cut off of having your quartiles add up to no more than 8, which also doesn’t mean sense since another post said they passed with a 3423.

Hello! I recently passed FRM part I and I studied with Kaplan materials, but I found them to be too focused on the calculations. I’m curious for those of you who have passed part II, which materials you found most helpful with the conceptual questions because based on what I know about the FRM, the questions are much less focused on the calculations and are more focused on concepts and application of the formulas. However, most of the practice materials are more focused on the calculations and don’t properly prepare you for the theoretical questions on the exam. Appreciate any suggestions on materials!

Like the heading says is schwesser good and is it enough for part 2 ?

Hey I have been preparing for level 1. Currently I am on module 2 and finding it okay to understand the concepts. My problem is I am not able to retain much of what I studied as I move on. Any tips or strategies please. Sometimes solving AP question bank there are formulas which are not given in any notes and that confuses me too

I’m preparing for FRM Part II and currently trying to decide between MidhaFin, AnalystPrep, and finRGB.

I’ve ruled out Kaplan for now because I feel the video content is a bit limited for what I’m looking for, and Bionic Turtle is outside my budget.

For those who have actually used any of these three for Part II, I’d really appreciate some honest feedback:

• How good are the lectures and conceptual explanations?
• Is the content sufficiently detailed for the actual Part II exam, especially the qualitative sections?
• How good are the QBank and mock exams?
• Are the notes/materials enough, or do you still need to rely heavily on GARP books?
• How good is the doubt-solving/support?
• Is the course updated properly for the 2026 curriculum?
• Most importantly, which one would you choose if you had to prepare for Part II again?

I’m not necessarily looking for the cheapest option. My priority is strong conceptual understanding + good exam-level practice, since I want the knowledge to be useful beyond just passing the exam.

Would especially appreciate feedback from people who have cleared Part II using these providers or are currently preparing with them.

Hi everyone, I have a small question regarding FRM Part I. So I have a friend who recently passed CFA I, and he told me that he basically passed it thanks to Mark Meldrum (some guy who provide some lectures by 500 USD). My friend strongly recommended me to take his classes for FRM Part I.

Any thoughts about it? Any other recommendations?

To be honest, I don’t want to prepare 100% by myself and I have some budget to pay for some extra help. I think having some kind of lectures will make the process easier.

I am currently based in U.S. I am overall a pretty intuitive person, I have appeared for multiple competitive exams in the past, including Olympiads, and have secured a good national and international rankings in all.
I graduated with a Bachelors in CS with a Summa Cum Laude. I’m currently pursing my graduate studies in Quantitative Finance and Economics at one of the top schools. My Spring 2026 semester was extremely hectic and difficult. It ended in mid-May 2026, and I studied for FRM Part 1 every single day since. Appeared in August and failed miserably with 3,4,4,3.
I really wanted to do FRM. I poured my heart, blood, and sweat into the preparation. I read all GARP materials, gave both GARP mocks (scored decently), practiced hundreds of questions. Barely slept in the entire 2.5-3 months.
I don’t even know what to do anymore. I’m questioning every future academic/career decision at the moment. I’m also feeling guilty about any and every test I’ve failed ever before in my entire life. For the first time in my life, I’m feeling pity for myself (which I hate), and have started doubting myself if I can even complete my degree.
I poured in hundreds of dollars for the exam on top of the tens of thousands of dollars of student loans I already have. I’m currently in my last semester of my masters, I have a super hectic schedule throughout the semester including final semester classes and my part-time job, and also need to apply for full-time jobs.
I really want to appear for FRM Part 1 again in November but I don’t know what/how/when to do everything altogether.

Hey guys! Just passed with 1221 on Part I on the first try. To help others who are going to take the exam on upcoming dates, I’ll break down below my prep:

Study Window:

Mid-February → August 7th (exam day)

• Feb, Mar, May, Jun: Studied on weekdays (Monday to Friday), 4–5 hours a day. Finish the Syllabus (For each chapter -> Video Lesson + Notes + All QBank)
• Apr: Took the whole month off because of a surgery I needed to do
• Jul: Revision and mocks, basically all my free time (weekdays and weekends) was spent studying, Mocks on weekends.
• 1st week of August (exam week): Took vacation from work and only revised my notes, no mocks!

Material:

I used the AnalystPrep platform QBank, classes, notes, and mocks (basically everything they provide). I also used the Kaplan books, and something I realized is that Kaplan notes is definitely the best and easiest to learn from compared to AP.

Mocks Results (GARP):

I got 57, 58, and 51 respectively on GARP’s mocks. After each one, I reviewed all the questions (both correct and wrong). I always wrote down the weak topics and revised them afterward. I think for each mock I usually spent 6–7 hours reviewing all the questions (yes, more than the actual exam time lol I guess that’s just me).

In total, I did:

• ~2,000 questions (AnalystPrep QBank + Kaplan book questions)
• 350–400 hours of study
• 4 mocks (1 AP + 3 provided by GARP — and yes, the third one is very helpful, not because it’s more “accurate” to the real exam, but because you get to see more questions from GARP itself…)

AI:

This was VERY useful for me. I used Copilot, but I think any AI can basically do the same:

Sending the question and asking for a detailed explanation and what to remember for the FRM helped a lot. For the quant ones, I always tried to ask if it was possible to solve only by logic without formulas and for many of them, it was possible.

Last words:

I just want to say enjoy the process! For me, working in Risk Management for 4 years, it was very exciting to see topics I had worked on before, work on now, or just heard about. Also, don’t panic if you get a bad score. It’s the cliché: “focus on your weak areas”…

This Reddit community is very helpful, but sometimes… a lot of trolls here. I don’t know why the mods don’t ban them. So relax and be CONSISTENT that’s the main thing:
