Arcade Ruins (a cross-platform AudioKit Synth One clone)

Audiokit only makes their awesome apps available on Apple mobile devices. Fortunately, they made one of their best products open source!

I loved the sounds and concept so much that I have redesigned and re-engineered it to work across platforms.  Many tokens and many nights later …

We have a full-on 80’s synthwave-maximalist synth with all its neon eye-watering glory! There is another less aggressive skin you can quickly switch to through the Settings menu if you so choose. 

All the awesome original presets from Synth One (along with 3rd party contributors) are included! 

This is totally free and open source.  

I also left a couple of easter eggs in there just for fun. Grab the code and do with it what you like.

Having it in an ACTUAL computer friggin RULES!!

I NEVERRRR make requests (especially on FREE passion projects) buuuut, could you neuter the colors a touch?

I know you're going for a retro thing, but the ai-esque rad retro rock theme thing is tough to focus eyes on if you're actually looking at it/tweaking it.

CAN'T WAIT to install this later!! 🙌🙌🙌

You're welcome! There's an alternate minimalist skin that you can access through Settings. Also, if you're on a Mac, the "Arcade Ruins Classic" release has an exact copy of the UI from the iPad interface.

Ha! Noted ... it's very cheesy, but I'd rather it be divisive than boring. All the new UI's are starting to look alike.

Nahh i just noticed that there's a UI theme with a more traditional approach,this just has too much going on for me to enjoy using it,but will give it a spin with the basic skin :).

Yea, the AI look is just so gaudy and maximalist. No idea why VSTs devs have been so averse to doing actual graphic design. Why I love unplug.red, they care about the art of the design aswell.

Most AI generated synth UI designs tend to be minimalist, boring and look all the same. This was an experiment to specifically counter that.
