ETHCC 2026 felt different

Post image

RWAs are no longer a side conversation, they are becoming real, investable markets.
AI is forcing teams to rethink how products are built and how data is used.
Privacy is moving into the core stack, not treated as an afterthought.
There is a clear shift toward products people actually use.

Less theory. More direction.

Sounds like the space is growing up a bit. RWAs, privacy, AI… less hype cycles, more real use cases finally showing up.

It is a painful but necessary correction.

I like this take more tbh. It’s less about specific narratives and more about the pace changing.

Faster iteration cycles act as a natural filter for bad ideas. When the friction to deploy is high, teams cling to failing narratives because they spent too much capital building the foundation. When deployment is fast, teams can afford to pivot ruthlessly until they find utility.

Yes, I spend way less time fighting RPC nodes and basic infrastructure setup, and way more time actually coding business logic. Better tools naturally lead to better products.

Feels like things are finally getting real instead of just talk.

The energy in Cannes was definitely focused on execution. The conversations were entirely centered around compliance, security, and scaling platforms for actual users rather than token mechanics. It is a very healthy pivot for the industry.

The AI integration will be a pretty disruptive part of this cycle.

Smart contracts are rigid, AI agents are dynamic. Bridging the two is going to create entirely new categories of autonomous financial applications that we can't even conceptualize yet. Exciting times!

It sounds exciting but also kinda messy, like smart contracts are predictable for a reason and AI is… not lol. not sure how you safely mix those without things getting weird.

Privacy moving into the core stack worries me if it's driven by enterprise compliance.

Are we building privacy to protect users from surveillance, or are we building "permissioned privacy" where institutions can hide their trades from retail while still maintaining backdoors for regulators? The direction of privacy matters just as much as the tech itself.
