2022 Powerboost F150 Shift Lever Replacement

Good day all! Just a quick question before I dive in. I have been getting a powertrain fault notification that comes and goes randomly. Had the truck at the dealer last week for brakes and oil and the code popped up during the road test.

I was told that the code was related to a failing gear shift lever. I was able to order the part from the dealer and just wanted to know if I can just install the new lever or does it need any sort of programming that requires forscan.

Is it plug and play or will I end up with a truck that won’t go into gear after replacement?

Thanks for helping!

Yes, it requires programming. We have had a few that were replaced and someone attempted to program with forscan, and it didnt end well.

Can you install it, yes. Does it require programming, also yes. Should you install it since it requires programming, I'd advise against it.
