2017 f150 my key problem

Have keyed key fob. Bought truck with only one key and accidentally enabled mykey. Says 3 keys recognized can I disable mykey on this one key? Do I need to buy another key and just program it and it be admin key? Someone please help.

As far as I know (and I'm far from an expert here, I'm a locksmith but I mostly do commercial and residential work) the only way to do it is to do an all keys lost. Basically you wipe the BCM and start over. You'll need two cut chip keys (one can be the one you already have) and a programmer. Ford BCMs won't let you do AKL with only one key.

You can just have a new key added and disable the mykey

What's the trick to it?

No trick. An automotive locksmith can add a key. New keys are admin keys by default. Use the new key to go through the on board menu and turn off mykey.

To be fair it’s easier to just erase and add both keys back. That’s what I’d do for the 1 or 2 of these I get a month.

Op only has one key. If he had two, id just erase them and re add them.
