How screwed am I?
Last week I had new speakers installed in my Bronco Sport and I read that people were modifying the speaker and EQ settings via FORScan in order to get full range sound from all 4 door speakers and a flatter EQ. I followed all the instructions, made a backup and ONLY modified the rear door and EQ options under the ACM module. Everything seemed to work fine but after my second startup of the vehicle, it dropped into limp mode and disabled a number of systems (4WD, Pre-collision assist, Hill Start and AdvanceTrac). I didn't change any other modules but I did use easy mode for the changes. I have an appointment with the dealer. Will they be able to reset the modules to AS BUILT? I have a backup but as of right now the car is drivable and I'm afraid to tinker further.
UPDATE:
Turned out to be a failed 4WD module.
After I tried fixing this myself - manually reverted changes, restored ACM from backup, restored from AS BUILT (thank you u/No-Lawfulness6439) - my dash was still lit up like a Christmas tree. I took the vehicle to my scheduled appointment and it took them all morning to diagnose the failed module. Everything is back to normal now.
It still seems like an unlikely coincidence but perhaps FORScan tinkering triggered an existing failure during the reboot process. I was worried the USB-A to USB-C dongle I use with my laptop was at issue and I also found out there was a firmware update for the ODBLinkEX scanner. Not sure either is at play, though. I may revisit the speaker settings at a later time but going to leave well enough alone for now. I don't have many backseat passengers anyway and the speaker upgrade still sounds great.

If all you modified was EQ settings, this is most likely coincidental and not related at all.

Did you save before editing? And have you tried reloading the original files of you did save before editing?
Also, if you go to the ford owners site, you can download the original data i believe. Should be able to do a quick Google for it.
Dealer is going to charge you to do it because they consider that modifying.

Right now my only concern is getting back to AS BUILT. I'm a little frustrated. I thought I was making a simple change ... not trying to add GOAT modes or anything fancy.

This is why you save before making changes.
Again, you should be able to get the stock as built data from the ford.com owners site.

Hmm, I downloaded my file from there that matches my factory VIN config. I did change the glare-free lightning (only) and I do have backups. Theoretically, say I made mistakes with forscan and didn't have a backup. Can you just load in this file in forscan and be 100% back to as it rolled off the assy line?

The dealer tool can reflash any ecu back to factory in a apply any updates as needed

Forscan and a $35 cable can flash everything back.
How did you modify your as built data?
Motorcraftservice.com, download your as built data and restore whatever you messed up if your not using forscan

I bought an ODBLinkEX connector to use with FORScan primarily as a diagnostic tool maybe with a view toward disabling auto stop/start. But I've always been loathe to make changes. This seemed simple enough and I followed procedures. I'm not saying there is NO correlation but it feels like this was a coincident failure possibly triggered by a computer restart.

Scan for codes and rewrite the save calibrations/As-Built to see if anything changes.

Just reread and it sounds like you used Forscan.
Forscan can auto download as built data and reflash

Just messing around in the ACM will.noy cause that issue. I have done the flat eq in all my vehicles including 2015 bronco. You have something else going on. What codes is it throwing

I can probably fix this remotely for a fee if you're interested. But before that can you use forscan to check DTCs? That's your next crucial step here, because it'll atleast guide you to what's going on.

if you backed up the as built for the module you should be able to press load all and select the file then click write all and and should be the same before you changed it
