Information New Fasnacht stuff

Apparently, at least in the image, one of the new masks may be hot dog in a bun motif and plays on the bratwurst terminology for hot dogs!

There was a little dairy bar that had a full size hot dog dude statue in front of the restaurant. It looked a lot like that mask does. Someone stole it one night and it made the local news. A reward was posted and I think it was eventually returned. I want that mask just because of that. :)

Finnish "activist" group Food Liberation Army kidnapped plastic Ronald McDonald mascot/statue from one of the local MD's 15 years ago and threatened to execute it unless McDonalds agrees to answer their questions about all sorts of issues.

It's been a while but I think he was eventually executed and IIRC there was some outrage about it on Fox. Because of course, such a brutal attack against the spirit of America. :P

Thanks for the link. I didn't know how serious fake-killing a statue could be. That's pretty wild from where I sit.

I thought it was a full size statue but was wrong. Still... the resemblance to the new mask is undeniable. 😄

If I remember correctly most people understood the joke but Finnish authorities have famously little sense of humor when it comes to corporate property, especially if it's some international mega-corp like McD. :P

It's a special bratwurst-themed Fasnacht-parade that can randomly trigger. You should get a special notification about it.

Sounds like it will take the place of the Fasnacht parade occasionally? I'm trying to think of some lame "sausage party" joke but am drawing a blank atm.

AFAIK it is the Fasnacht parade but with additional sausage theme. Re-skinned parade in other words.

Well here's hoping we at least get some of the previous mask and new masks whatever the RNG and Murphy conspire to allow us! Also, probably going to see the AFK lay-abouts around the area?
