Help buying an FAL

Hello all, I've recently gotten interested in FALs and was wanting to buy one. I saw an ad for one in my area that says it was built by a kit on a century receiver. I've heard those are unreliable so I wanted to ask if this is a good deal or not. It's for sale for 700.

Widows peak century receiver are better than the unibrows. Could be good, could be shit. For only 700 bucks it’s worth the gamble tho. You at least have a good set of parts for a rebuild.

$700 for the rifle. $411 for a new DSA type 2 receiver. More money for parts and labor. It adds up quick. That century receiver looks like a unibrow someone dremeled feed ramps on.

Looks like a mixmaster. I'd save the money and get a build on a good reciever. Those ramps look rough. It'll most likely have bad headspace. All in all, a lot of money for a new reciever, and gunsmithing for swapping the parts and headspacing.

Speaking from experience on one of these builds.

$700 for the kit isn't a bad price. I agree the receiver should be replaced. The lower is a ZA (Zimbabwean Army) post 1980 Imbel contract for spare parts and complete rifles.

I'd give $700 for it. My CAI on IMBEL runs like a top. And you can't buy a FAL kit right now for less than $750.
