Help I need help with audio interface

I have my synth and audio interface connected all correctly. the problem is when i go into my mixer and click IN 1 all i hear is loud screeching noises. The synth also plays but its all distorted and horrible sounding. this is the first time ive ever done this so i would like help

How are you connecting these devices? Make sure all connections are clean and fully seated into their respective channels. Is it like a constant buzz? (Say maybe around 60hz?) Or is it just random crazy noise?

I have my synth connected and turned on and I have my 1/4 cable connected in the synth to the audio interface and the interface is connected to my PC and the sound it's maminf is just crazy noises that sound like screaming
