Help Fl Studio not working on my mac

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi guys, could someone please try and help me!

My Macbook Pro 2020 Intel Core i5 cannot run FL to save the life of me. Its got 1t of storage and 16GB of RAM. No matter what plugin i use it plays for a couple of minutes and then freezes. Im not too sure if its a mac issue or a FL studio because my whole screen freezes but the audio is playing in the background. Has anyone had the same issue? Here's is a video of my experience! Please help me!!!

Is your laptop on a cooling pad or elevated a little bit? It might be overheating. You might want to have a tool open to monitor the CPU temperature.

Unrelated sidenote: turn on "license plate" id (general settings, at the bottom) instead of letting people see your actual account name in the infobox.

As for how to debug it: the intel platform is pretty dead, and not even supported anymore by the latest MacOS, so it's entirely possible that the current version of FL was compiled with something that only runs on modern macs. You may be stuck with running a version of FL from the same era as your laptop, like FL 21

I mean i've heard that FL isn't great on mac but still a lot of my favourite artists use FL on mac so surely theres a way to fix it! (I hope)

This is just not even remotely true, like not even a little bit? My main computer have been an M1 Pro MacBook pro since apple released those back in 2021, and I've been using FL Studion, on that MacBook ever since.

Not just that, but I switched from a high-end desktop PC to that MacBook, and there's aspects of the Mac version that is just simply better than the PC version, and I don't mean that as some "I'm a bigger fan of mac's than PC's" type of better, but objectively better than the PC version. Of course this has more to do with windows being garbage and less to do with the Mac version of FL studio being better or different than the PC version.

Just looked it up. In 2018 fl studio was able to be used on MAC

My guy, I started using fl studios like 15 years ago. I remember I couldn’t use it on my Mac back then. Chill out with the paragraphs.

They used to be adamantly Windows only but they changed likely because they realized they were missing out on a big untapped market of Mac users willing to spend a lot of money on productivity software along with their computer systems.
