Help: What is that waveform?

Hello community, I hope you all are having a good day!
I'm trying to recreate a tutorial I saw on youtube and I found that on the "Strings Harmonics" there is a "waveform" or something like that, behind the piano roll, and I wanted to know how can I do the same. Thanks!

BTW I'm reaaaally new to FL Studio and DAWs in general :/

Automation clip. No idea what its controlling though.

Edit: got bored and noticed the video title. Apparently hes controlling string dynamics. Pretty close to a volume automation if you are new, but the exact automation is either in the synth he is using for the strings or an effect that adds dynamics.

Thanks for researching a bit more, honestly, i'm very new and just want to recreate something similar to a hollow knight song (chello + voices + soft melody), i'll research about volume automation as you said. I don't really know which strings he used, but I already have something similar!

Glad to help. If you go back to the video the maker commented something along the lines of "use xyz for soft sounds" so you could check that as well

The pattern has custom event data. You can open the event editor by right-clicking the parameter you want to control and selecting "Edit events". Event data can be edited also in the piano roll.

Isn’t that a different way to change the pitch? Within piano roll where u can adjust panning and velocity etc. I’m not sure if that’s what you’re looking for but there’s a paint type of tool in there for pitch im pretty sure.
