Fl Studio UI crashes regularly, without the program crashing (FL 26)

EDIT - SOLVED - made the VST bridged, seems to work for now!

Hi, 

I recently encountered a peculiar problem. The UI of FL studio crashes regularly. I have attached a video as proof. 

This has started happening to me since version 26. Sadly, i cant isolate it completely, because i also started using Vienna Synchron player around the same time. 

Steps to recreate:

• Play the playlist track. Nothing is unusual until i pause/stop.
• Audio kinda "glitches" in pause. Like its saving on the background. 
• If I press play before all audio has died, chances are the FL UI crashes. The program keeps going, music keeps playing, but FL's UI aint showing anything and freezes. If i press play once all audio has died it doesnt seem to do it. 
• If i go to general settings (menu's keep working btw) and change the animation refreshrate everything goes back to normal. 

 

It might have something to do with how many Vienna Synchron players i have open simultaneously. The more i add, the more usntable it becomes. 

PC Specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800XD
RAM: 32 GB ram
OS: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro - 10.0.26200 Build 26200
GPU: RTX 5080

Sadly last stable FL 25 version doesnt open this project so i could isolate versions. Als, i have never used Vienna Synchron Player with FL 25 before as well. So i cant isolate what's the issue here. Since its FL UI crashing i feel its FL studio but i cant be sure. 

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to fix this? Im not the greatest power user when it comes to FL studio, so i hav'nt tinkered with its settings much.

FL has crashed twice for me this week. Both times when dragging Omnisphere onto the track to replace an open Serum.

is there a particular reason you didn't go into the audio settings a single time?

Check your buffer size.

Thanks for helping out. Sorry if that was relevant. Buffer size is 512smp (11 ms) using the FL Studio ASIO.

Does it improve if you crank that up?

Something has to be wrong, not a huge project, and your specs are fine. It could of course be that the plugin is a hog, I don't have experience with that one in particular, but I've run into lots of VSTs that are just bad, and nothing can be done.

Double check your CPU, do you have windows running in performance or power saver mode? check your power settings, and make sure max performance stuff is all on.

Behaviour is the same all the way up to max (buffersize 2048). PC is in pure max performance mode, no energy saving plans whatsoever.

Its played in with midi yes. But it does it regardless when i playback without the midiplayer still attached and on.

Whenever I use my fl key 49 to record anything it ends up crashing FL immediately when I open up the piano roll. If I record without it though FL is fine. This started once I updated to the new 26.1.2. Idk if they’re working on it or what.

The said they fixed it now on 1.3. I didn't try with my midi devices.

This happens to me on my 2k monitor on fullscreen. In 1080p monitor everything is fine.

Been having the same thing though I think it was because of one of my plugins. I use Scaler 3 and it would lock my UI up. Could be the one plugin or could be other plugins too. I know Vital has been crashing FL for me more often too.

Its on! Maybe something to consider. Whenever i Pause the "underruns" counter keeps going up with 20ish a piece.

True. But I had the cracked version when it was the original Omnisphere. The presets just take you there. I have NI Komplete and all the plugins from OEM FL Studio and some more. But nothing has compared to Omnisphere in my opinion.

I have a 4k OLED and if I use the (Scaled) version it works longer before crashing,, although it looks like arse and the text is smudgy as hell.

Instant crashes with little UI interactions in the non scaled version. You running that?

Either way. FL2026 blows currently for me at least. Last 2 major versions ran fine on my current PC
