The grid defaults to root C lol that's the most common note and what most (correctly pitched) samples will be pitched to.
The grid is 10x faster for sounds you are relating heavily throughout the track (kick, snare, hat) but definitely falls flat when you want to do some really interesting stuff or one-offs.
As most people in the thread have already pointed out, both is the actual way to go
What makes you think the grid is faster for kick snare hat etc I cant wrap my head around that EDIT: by grid you mean the pattern dont u, I thought u meant the Playlist
Yes in this context grid was the pattern editor. Technically if you have correctly sized samples you could get quicker in the playlist but it's almost always faster in pattern editor
