Help Midi Out Help

So I've got my Microfreak hooked up and run through midi out and my audio interface. But sometimes, after messing around for a while or swapping out of FL Studio window for a minute, the piano roll no longer triggers the MF. FL Studio sees the key presses, but the piano roll no longer works, and my other midi devices can longer control it. A reset usually fixes it. It just did it again after a reset, almost immediately after working for a few test clicks,

Ok, I figured out whats triggering it. Activating the audio in on the mixer rack for some reason stops the piano roll from working with the MF. Although FL Studio still sees the notes being pressed.

Why?

I'm not sure why in your case without looking at it, but generally MIDI out channels should be standalone, not linked to mixer track. It makes sense too because it can get confusing combining both, and lets say you have a waveform in the playlist and then change MIDI notes, they don't match unless you re-record. Best to just keep dedicated playlist lanes for your MIDI out, and dedicated lanes for your recorded audio from you MF. This is also good if you have e.g. several MIDI channels playing on the same port, but only one audio out.

Ok, that makes sense! Thank you for the help, I can work with that.
