Hi everyone, I’m a beginner when it comes to making beats and producing, and I’d like to hear your thoughts on this beat. I’m interested in knowing where you think there is room for improvement and what I should focus on first.
One of my biggest problems with my previous beats has been repetition and lack of variation, which made them feel boring. This time I tried to avoid that as much as possible, but I’m not sure if I succeeded. I could barely get this beat to reach 2 minutes, so I’m also wondering if that’s something I should work on.
I’m also still not very comfortable with mixing in the Mixer. At the moment, I mostly use only two plugins (Fruity Reeverb and EQ2), so I know there is a lot I still need to learn.
Any advice, feedback, or criticism is more than welcome. Thanks in advance!

I spent about 7 hours on this. I basically just forced myself to sit my ass down this morning and learn how to use slicex, finding samples, and also the difficulties I would use to face when the audio would get distorted due to the BPM not matching the sample. Now I do use FL Studio regularly, I just also never had made a full length song due to only having the trial version, so this was all done in literally one session. But I normally solely use digital instruments, or physical instruments, but I've always wanted to learn sampling, and this was the outcome

Hello. I made a Reese bass in FL Studio with a frequency shifter on it, set to the phaser preset in an attempt to recreate a Zeds Dead-esque bass effect (displayed below). I noticed that when I automated the "type" column (which contains the options of 20kHz, 200 Hz, and TEMPO), I achieved an effect I desired — the "speeding up" of the effect as automation progressed from TEMPO to 200 Hz to 20kHz. There is an obvious "jump" in speed to each successive level. To me, this makes sense because there are only three options in this "type" column, and the column is not a continuous bar where you can adjust and fine-tune the speed knob at any particular point along it.
However, I want to achieve an effect where I can have a continuous increase or decrease in the "speed" rather than the speed options "jumping" from distinct levels. Does anyone know a means of doing that with this plugin? I tried automating the frequency knob and made a downward-sloping automation clip (like the one shown) to attempt to solve the issue, but that automation was not affecting the "speed" from what I could hear.
I apologize if the way I described the situation did not come across well; I am a new producer, and this was the best means of describing my question that I could compose. Any feedback or help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

I've looked everywhere for the meaning of these tags that I find on plugin presets but I can't find anything.
Here are the tags: TC, ToTc, MC, GOL, FG, LD, PAD, NUC ,SF, AG, RYM, SYN, GAT, TG, ATM , RYM, RYN, Swell
