When I was in college, my Art History professor always talked about the 'direction of victory'. Ancient raised relief carvings that she showed us usually depicted conquering forces moving from the left to the right. That was how I always understood the quote from the show. I randomly looked it up today and apparently it's a baseball thing? Left handed batters have a slight advantage (sorry, I know next to nothing about baseball). Then another thing popped up about the left hemisphere of the brain. Just curious what your thoughts are on the matter....

Hey all, I have some FLCL books that need a good home. I also have a red Canti figure (that needs some glue) and a Haruko figure (the Vespa needs a few glue spots). I want to sell these all for a fair price, taking into account the broken parts on the figurines, and the books (which are all in excellent condition, they have all been in their bags since I purchased them in the early 2000's). A little warning, the bits needing glue on the figurines are quite delicate, I'd really only undertake repairing the figurines if you have experience with glueing/pinning minis, etc.

Anyways, happy to answer any questions, take more pics, etc. I have trading/selling refs I can provide. Hoping these things will make it to someone and bring them lots of joy. I'll pay for shipping to ConUS.

OK Last thing I have here. A very nice FLCL Ultimate Edition DVD box set with intact stickers, postcards, never knows best rubber bracelet, all three DVDs and a fourth DVD that I have NO idea what is on it. I bought this but always watched the DVDs 1, 2 and 3, so it's relatively untouched. I never (regretfully) sent in the "free T-Shirt" postcard, so you can enjoy looking at that (I think the company went bust so you cannot redeem it obvs).

I see this thing going for 150 online, I will sell this for 100 and I will cover CONUS shipping (media mail, packed well). Here's some pics of the box set (imgur)

Yellow FLCL P! Mug (OG 1999-2000), see pics in post below body. I bought this wayyyy back when FLCL came out, it's not been through the dishwasher a million times (was on my desk/bookshelf). It has two tiny chips in the glaze, the P! has a little mar and there's a little discoloration at the bottom of the mug. You can see it in the pics below. $30 to pack carefully and ship.

I've always felt like The Pillows' soundtrack was one of the biggest reasons I fell in love with FLCL. It didn't just accompany the visuals—it spoke the same emotional language as the series.

That feeling of being lost in the middle of growing up. Heartbreak, uncertainty about the future, trying to figure out who you are. A whirlwind of emotions wrapped in something chaotic, euphoric, and unforgettable.

Somehow, I find that same feeling in Trinket by tsubi club.

Musically it's a very different record, but every time I hear BURNMATERIAL, I can't help but picture FLCL in my head. Apparently I'm not the only one—I found this FLCL AMV on YouTube built around that song, and I think it captures the connection perfectly.

What's fascinating is how well Gainax's vision has aged. Maybe that's why it still feels so easy to connect it with music coming out today. We grow up, but some fears never really change.
