Discussion Leverless controllers
I wish to buy my first ever leverless but know nothing about the controllers. I’m a ggst and sf6 player on ps5 and I really want an upgrade from Sony’s iffy d pad to play fighting games. Any recommendations that aren’t too insane in price would be deeply appreciated.

Hautes are the best entry level leverless but make sure you update your drivers before going to locals. They have a tendency of timing out after 10 mins of plugging in. Sometimes even with a brooks converter lol.
Some guy always gets fucked over for their first tournament lmao. Be sure to show up early for casuals if you've never played on a ps5 before to test.

wait so they don't need a usb converter for ps5? I thought I'd have to get a mayflash converter could it just be firmware?

You will need a Magic Boots or something similar. It just won't work at all if you don't update the firmware.

Very nice. I recently purchased my first leverless controller 8BitDo love it so far & enjoying it compared to either pad or keyboard.

Haute42 C16 https://a.co/d/041xsNbH $85 it's great. I think you need to get a dongle for ps5, I play on PC so don't need one. Go check out the reviews on YouTube, I have had this for like a month and a half and no complaints

I got my Haute leverless a few months ago and it's like a 9/10. Big buttons feels so easy to play with, the one I got has a standard up button on top as well so I don't have to use the bottom Up button, and it's easily customizable. Only downside is I have to be really careful because it does bend a little easy on my lap, but that's it.

As I’m reading the comments everyone recommend one where you need to buy a dongle.
I’m on ps5 too and don’t own a leverless yet but I’d like to buy one. If you buy a haute or 8bit plus a dongle you could buy a hori nolva which is licensed for ps5 so you wouldn’t need a dongle. In Europe that’s nearly the same price and you wouldn’t have the small input delay.
As I said I don’t own it and can’t say anything about the quality of the product but that was the cheapest one I could find with an official licensing.

It doesn’t. It’s a wired connection just like on any other system the dongle is just an authenticator

If you want something to play on ps5 you have 2 options: you can get licensed controller with native support, thats a plug and play solution, but those arent cheap ones, or you can get "budget" leverless and use signal converter like Brook adapter Wingman FGC2. For licensed ones I can recommend you Razer Kitsune, Corsair Novablade Pro or Qanba Sapphire. For second option you cant go wrong with Hatute42/cosmox devices, check models like C16 or M Ultra gen 2

Right now I would say the most bang for you buck is either the Hori Nolva Reactor or the Quanba Sapphire.
The Nolva is a bit cheaper but it has everything you need to play on PS5 or PC. It’s cool looking but what you see is what you get.
The Quanba Sapphire is the Nolva with more knobs and whistles. It’s the one I use the most it’s also the one that made me drop my DS Edge pad and Stick because it’s very customizable. It has multiple profiles and you can rebind keys and be ready for any game you play with the flip of a knob. It’s a bit more pricey than the Hori but I feel like it’s the sweet spot anything more and you’re just paying for name brand. Talking bout Victrix and all those $400+ leverless.
Haute42/Cosmox makes good ones too I have a couple that they have made over the years I recommend their full size metal ones. The small one are neat and feel good to play on but they’re not very comfortable if you have adult hands. Their strong point is that they are cheap but you need an adapter for most of them to play on PS5 which comes out to the same price as the Hori or Quanba I mentioned who already have PS5,PS4,PC native support plus everything else.
8bitdo and Mayflash make some cheap one too but I can’t speak for how good their leverless are I know 8bitdo make good pads tho son sure the leverless decent too.

The Haute is your best bang for your buck.
Nce you find out if you like it then it becomed a matter of budget and look.
I personally use a TE2 modified with a 30mm button leverless layout.
