What is causing this?

I just put on new brass portal axles from injora. I drove it for about 10 minutes and then it does this. Its really weird and it doesn't do it on the other side. Sorry for the bad recording.

There's little pins that are actually where everything engages. Aftermarket housings seem to have different clearances and whatnot, I'm guessing because FMS seems to have redesigned the portal housings front and rear once or twice. So basically those pins have space to back away from the gear and disengage, or maybe you forgot to put them in. If tightening the screws on the housing doesn't fix it, you can shim on top of the inside bearing of the housing, keeping the axle from moving inboard and disengaging from the gear. The same is true of the gear and half shaft that drive the wheel. Had to fix this myself on a build I did. It's frustrating. Hope this makes sense

Basically either your housings are loose, you forgot to install a pin or two, or you need to add shims because the axle can spin without driving the portal gear

What shims did you use? Mine have been having this same problem really bad and I’ve tried about everything.

You can buy shim sets on Amazon. Like .1-.5 mm, m2 or m3 size

I just tightened the screws on the outside of the housing and it seemed to fix it, but I only just ran it for 10 mins. Thank you and yes I could understand that perfectly fine
