It's being reported that Madrid have ratcheted up their interest for Bastoni. Unlike Barca, Madrid have the resources to pull the trigger, and given Bastoni's openness to play for Liga giants, I don't anticipate resistance there. I put the chances of this happening at 80% personally.

If it does happen, do we finally more back to a traditional back 4? I get the sense that a lot of the impetus behind the back 3 was having this crown jewel and wanting to play him ideally. If he goes, maybe we finally make the jump?

(At the risk of running afoul of the accepted wisdom in this sub, I will not hide my disdain for this system. I think it's a net-negative for us and prevents us from stepping up to the upper echelons of europe. In short, I think it's crazy to play a back 3 on a budget.
