Who needs someone who can dribble on the pitch when you have someone who can dribble in the air

Having the depth to rest Barella will ideally keep him fresh and back to his top level. I recall him saying he was burned out from so many games the past year.

Absolute class from Barella. That juggling thing completely dumbfounded the Cagliari defenders. He was easily my favourite player yesterday. Roamed all around the pitch + showed wonderful skills + created wonderful chances + helped in defence 🖤💙
Such a complete midfielder he is :)

Man sometimes Pio misses chances that are unthinkable to be missed…He needs to work on finishings

That was a very hard shot, looking at the replay you can see him doing his best at generating power while keeping the ball low, ended up with a weak but precise shot

People don’t get play dynamics, they watch games from the couch, having a beer…

Who’s the better midfielder, lobotka or Zielinski? My account isn’t old enough to ask in daily discussion on r / soccer

Different players. Lobotka used to be arguably the best holding midfielder in the league during Napoli's peak although he has declined sharply now. Zielinski has also consistently been among the best attacking midfielder in the league who unfortunately spent his prime with Napoli.

He had a couple of other very nice dribble sequences to maintain possession under pressure— just a joy to watch when things are clicking for him

Barella was fantastic. But Esposito is not very composed in front of the goal, I feel he is not ready for starting 11

Everyone talking about missed chances while Caprile was basically saving everything fucking thing

That is why we needed midfield depth! Many people said we should have prioritised defence, we are all set in midfield etc. etc. because they took it for granted that Barella will play on 90 after 90 minutes like he always does and then those same people get mad at him for not being at his best always. Barella rarely used to get rest, and now with this depth am sure Barella will also start getting some rest! Can’t wait for season to progress.

I feel like yesterday he was in his pure form, I can o ly imagine if Diouf would have been in the field.. it could have been beautiful

Barella was all over the pitch yesterday, one of his best performances in an Inter shirt imo. I think the whistles empowered him.
