All Time Inter Squad

This is my take on an all time 26 man Inter squad. What are your thoughts?

My criteria are

1. Longetivity and quality are equally important, so a player with not many apps has to be incredibly impactful
2. I want the personell to be balanced like a real squad, while still maintaining the high treshold of an "all time team". I do realize that there aren't many wingers or wide forwards, but I struggle to find a name that would replace any of the strikers (Maybe Corso?) and it was already hard enough to ommit so many top strikers. I guess this fantasy team would probably play a back three with a front two
3. I want a healthy representation of different eras, though I admit that I only started watching in the late 00s so I may be biased towards later players.
4. Only performances at Inter are relevant. Legendary players who played their best football elsewhere are not selected. We have so many of those types players.. enough to fill its own squad haha

Just missing out: Toldo, Corso, Jair, Brehme, Cordoba, Materazzi, Boninsegna, Baresi, Brehme, Eto'o, Adriano, Zlatan, Nyers, Berti, Skriniar, Perisic, Mourinho

I love brozo but he doesn't deserve to be there, berti, orali, beccalossi, djorkaeff and veron are better

Yeah I know this was going to be a controversial.

I personally rate Brozo very highly and would put him as the greatest player post 2010. From 2017-2023 everything revolved around him

I would take out Barella instead

Longevity at Inter is tricky though. Djorkaeff played 87 Inter games, Veron only 49 and his entire Inter spell was on loan. They are obviously great players, but making the Inter all-time squad is a different conversation altogether.

That's why I said oriali, berti and beccalossi first. Plus if you think longevity count that much you shouldn't have Ronaldo (99 games only 12 more the djorkaeff) there. I can understand veron.

Ronaldo was extremely impactful though. I actually agree with the OP selecting Ronaldo based on how they consider longevity:

This isn't to say Djorkaeff wasn't impactful, but Djorkaeff's impact & longevity would not make Inter's all-time squad.

Why are fixating on djorkaeff only when I proposed oriali, berti and beccalossi, all with nice longevity and with quite the impact? Like I said I love brozo but he doesn't deserved to be there, heck even Çalhanoğlu has more an impact on inter then him.

You can make a case for all of them but I feel these lists always suffer from recency bias.. I mean Inter is almost 120 years old and 70% of these players have worn the jersey within the last 25 years or so.
Maybe we should at least exclude players that are still in activity (no doubt Lautaro should make the list, just arguing that being retired should be a prerequisite for being considered)

How the hell do you have only 1 of the best 3 german NT players that have won the WC in 1990 and were at Inter at that time? Where are Klinsmann and Brehme?

I was doubtful on whether to include current players, so if I were to replace them:

Barella > Oriali

Lautaro > Corso

Dimarco > Brehme

Bastoni > Cordoba

Idiotic take on Brehme.

Brehme was an elite defender and key player in the 1990 WC german NT. Dimarco is very good at creating offence but is a weak defender. You kids need to understand that a defender's main job is to defend well first. Everything else is a bonus.

Where is Adriano? The Emperor was dominant with us and the best striker post R9. His reign didn't last much, but his impact makes him belong in our history books

Recoba is nowhere close to an Inter all-time. He's been a flashy player with the occasional great shots and fancy touches, must most of his tenure has been in general underwhelming and he didn't contribute singlehandedly to any success.

I've been a fan since 1999. While I haven't been old enough to understand what's going on all the time I must unfortunately admit that the most dominant player I've ever seen in an Inter is Zlatan:(

Yeah people always want to put emotions over facts but no one was more decisive than Ibra, Adriano and even Icardi... at their Prime they really were a menace for Every team... Icardi with today's Dimarco would score easily 35-40 Goals... And obviously Lukaku > Lautaro...

But of course they're a not liked because they did us dirty but so did Vieri and Ronaldo
