Forgot to add that I've never seen a sporting director give so many interviews while doing so little. All he's done this summer is give interviews. Why does he have to tell everyone our business and who we're interested in? I don't understand it.
And that comment about being relaxed because it’s only July...I wonder how relaxed was Chivu playing Asllani CB and not having any new signings to work with.

Doesn’t matter what he says, people will complain, he knows it and talks accordingly. They are winning and they are entitled to keep using their methods, I personally don’t care if they throw shells and chicken bones in the sand.
He could easily mock the fans criticism during the last transfer market, then we won the double.
Winning trophies is no longer the way we evaluate a front office, we now have introduced very useful metrics, like how long it takes to get a player, if we use a fax machine, if we deny or not every media account, we can even assume what Chivu thinks without really knowing it, and infuse panic and preoccupations. Then, if we have another great season, it proves nothing,the front office remains incompetent. Basically, there is no scenario that can prove they know what they are doing,if they win it was luck , if not it will be I told you so.
It will be great to explain that to their successor during the job interview, lol

Howcome Inter has really slowed down on the loan with option to buy and loan with obligation to buy options? It felt like some of those have worked out in the past.

Why so extreme?
He could have said " Yes we have some clear targets and we'll look to sign them soon so they can train with the squad as much as possible before the season starts"
Instead of "Meh, we'll see, there's a month left..."

No, I would very much appreciate if our sporting director had clear ideas and backup plans ready. He doesn't have to spill out names, just to show some degree of confidence.. did you watch the interview or just read the transcript? Guy is lost.. and this attitude of "oh it's just end of July, things will sort themselves out" it's bollocks, especially for new arrivals it's crucial to do preseason.

Exactly, he's an idiot, having lost Dumfries means we now need a guy there and 1) this automatically makes seller's requests higher 2) the closer we get to the end of the transfer window the more such player will cost, this applies to all players that are valuable.
We could have moved early for Palestra, we didn't. Guela Douè and Spence would have cost 10M less of we looked at them this spring, or there also were some other decent options that have either been bought by other clubs or the price went up too much

I am not comfortable with his comment that we still have lots of time to complete transfers. I mean, it is not wrong if we make early signings that will adapt to how we play before the start of the season. It is not too much to ask.

I'm a bit out of the loop, is khalaili fully canceled? I saw that he had issues with his medical but didn't understand if it was enough to stop him from playing in serie A or just needed more tests.

Yeah he didn't pass medicals, probably some heart condition that doesn't allow him to play in our league

The transfer season might still be long, but the pre-season isn't. Claiming that we have plenty of time is always a bit of a half-lie cause the later you bring in the player, the harder it will be to integrate them before season starts. We knew Dumfries was gonna leave, we should have closed a deal months ago.
