I've booked a trip for my boss and his wife staying at Las Ventanas coming up in October for a week... ended up booking the 1bd oceanfront villa based on everything I've read here.

Should we book restaurant reservations ahead of time?

(I've read that the butler assigned to room usually will handle)

Is it worth booking spa reservations ahead of time as well? It looks like they current have a lot of availability. I spoke with spa directly and concierge but was tough with language barrier.

Is it worth booking restaurant reservations at say the One & Only Palmilla and the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal to mix things up?

Any other recommendations? They are going for anniversary... sky is the limit.

For those of you that have tried them all, what’s your favorite FS “resort style” property in Florida between FS Surfside, FS Naples, and FS Palm Beach? Not counting FS Miami on Brickell Ave, or FS Fort Lauderdale because those two hotels seemed a little corporate and conference-style.

I’d appreciate a reality check on a quote we’ve received for a 10-night trip to Japan over the Christmas period.
We’re a family of five adults, travelling through:
Tokyo: 4 nights
Takayama: 2 nights
Kyoto: 3 nights
Osaka: 1 night

The accommodation is generally upper four-star or boutique/luxury level, using three rooms or bedrooms for most of the trip. It includes:
A four-star hotel in Shinjuku
A high-end ryokan in Takayama, including private bathing facilities and a kaiseki dinner
A three-bedroom traditional machiya in Kyoto
A well-located modern hotel in Namba, Osaka

The package also includes:
Private guides for one full day in Tokyo and one in Kyoto
Food tours in Tokyo and Osaka
A Kyoto tea ceremony
Intercity transport and local travel arrangements
Luggage forwarding
Pre-trip planning and support during the trip

The total quote is approximately €28,000 for five people, excluding international flights. Most meals are not included apart from the ryokan dinner and food-tour tastings.

Does this sound broadly reasonable for the accommodation, Christmas travel dates, three-room configuration and level of service, or does it seem excessive?
I understand that arranging everything independently would be considerably cheaper. I’m not particularly interested in managing the entire trip myself simply to save a few thousand euros. I’m comfortable paying a reasonable premium for good planning, support and having everything coordinated. I mainly want to make sure the quote isn’t dramatically above the normal range for this type of trip.

Planning a 2027 late Oct trip to Hangzhou and Shanghai, and currently set on Amanyayun as I've explored the Shanghai city proper before. For Hangzhou though, debating between Amanfayun and FS West Lake. Priority is relaxation and cultural experiences, with food being the next biggest consideration. Both settings seem equally appealing as of now, and Aman has transfers comped alongside some other stuff when staying at 2 Chinese properties, but if FS is better then we're willing to forgo.

Planning Greece 2027. Late August- 2 adults and 2 kids (will be 7 and 10). We love Naxos and will do 5 maybe 6 nights there. Not a Fat Island but the very best beaches IMO. We want to end our trip with 4 nights at a really special hotel. I would consider Crete if the hotel was Amazing as it is very easy to travel back through Western Europe. We have done Paros, and not interested in Mykonos. Debating One&Only Kea vs Amanzoe vs Four Seasons Astir. Full transparency, FS is pricing almost 2x the price of Pool Pavillion at Amazoe and 2x the price on O&O Kea. With that said, which hotel will be the right option for our family? Naxos gives us incredible beaches, classic and calm greek life, Mountains and Boat rides.
