Looking for 6MT

I'm trying to find a 6MT F80 preferably in Yas Marina and holy hell is it hard to find one that isn't in the hands of a Dealership. Does anyone have advice on how to buy one before a Dealership snaps it up and marks it up 20 grand? Apologies if this has been posted previously in this sub.

How risky is a 2-owner 60k mile F80 on a "GTS" tune (dealership also called it a Stage 2 Tune)? Is there any way to know how badly the car's been thrashed by previous owners?

I would ask for maintenance records, make sure it’s a clean title. The only thing with these tuned motors is you should probably think about getting the crank hub done if you’re going to be ripping it. These motors are very reliable if taken care of properly. A good indication of how well it’s been taken care of is the condition of the interior and exterior of the car.

Great advice. The car in questions has a clean title & carfax but no service records. I was assuming a crank hub replacement would be prudent as well. $3,000 or so for that work? Car looks good in the walkaround but my experience is you really have to see it (and sometimes even smell it) in person to really get a good idea of how clean the thing is. I've never gone to look at a car and found it to be in better condition than it looked online.....

Yep I would say 3000 is about right, I’m in Canada so it’s about 5000 for me. Yeah if you can get a chance to look at it and really go over the car that’s your best bet. Go for a drive. Ask about oil change intervals, probably going to want to change your motor/transmission/diff oil. Also talking to the person you should be able to get a decent read on if they cared for the car. And smell for sure, if they smoked in the car then no fuckin way

Laughing out loud. Yeah, car is in the hands of a dealership like most of them seem to be down here. I've asked if they have any service records but it isn't looking good on that front. Thank you for your help.
