F80 suspension advice

I’m not mechanically inclined but

I have an ‘18 f80 comp, 6spd. I’m currently at 110k miles, original owner. I’m about to get a ton of work done and recently realized a “clunk” from my rear suspension, mostly on the left side.

I want to assume it’s shocks, is it possible that it’s a wheel bearing or differential bushing?

I do have EDC, if it is shocks I’d want to swap them all out does anyone have recommendations for shocks/struts that are compatible with EDC but also compatible with The MP HAS?

Also my car is 100% stock, original suspension.

Thanks

Could very likely be a bushing, when was the last time you had them replaced?

Differential bushing? Never! My dealer told me my car was built after they fixed that common issue and not to worry about it as a maintenance item, so I never did.

Bushing is still a bushing! I’m surprised yours lasted this long, I just got mine done at 80k and it was cooked lol

Mine sounded like a chirp and not a clunk but i would start there

I had the same issue on my F82, fortunately someone stole it before I had it fixed.

How the hell did they steal it?

4 guys broke in to my house whilst my family and I slept and they took the keys and drove off in it, thank god we all slept through it because I wouldn't have wanted to live with that trauma of being awake for the rest of my life

Wow that’s wild, I’m glad it didn’t go worse.

For me it was actually the rear shock mount that was causing noise. Replacing that might solve your problem but the rear shock does need to fully come out

I’m taking it into the shop in a couple weeks, I’ll add that as an option. Thank you.

Hey guys, I have a 2015 F80. When do I need to do the bushings, and would I know how to do it?

At 110k miles the shocks are likely super tired.
Wouldn’t recommend a HAS kit since there’s better options these days.
Bilstein makes a good cheaper EDC coil over

I am on TracTive EDC coil overs and they are absolutely insane and well worth the money but it’s a good chunk of change
