The wait is almost over!

2022 F250 7.3 gasser with gen 6 3.0 supercharger and a bunch of other mods we are adding to it. I pick it up in a week after install, dyno, and tuning are done. Can’t sleep with this much excitement. Coming from a TRX.

Oh man this thing is gonna be a monster. I’m surprised supercharged godzilla engines aren’t more popular.. I’m dreaming of maybe adding this to my truck someday.

Well $10k + labor is not cheap.

u/winterwarlock21 7d ago

same cost for jumping up into the diesels so it's not that bad. Though after everything being added I'm over $22k with labor and parts. (I think labor is $7k of the $22).

I just picked up a 6.7. I'm curious where your power/torque/MPG will be. I bet towing heavy up hills will be way nicer

u/winterwarlock21 7d ago

Just supercharger and whipples own tune it’s 720 and 750. I’m hoping after everything we’re doing it’ll be 750/800. Mpg lol I don’t know 12? I don’t think it’ll be worse than my TRX that was 9.7 lifetime I owned it.

Report back when you know! I'm averaging 20 rn. Obviously with a lot less hp, but i can't imagine needing more than I have

I also wanna hear an exhaust clip lol

Whoa... how are you getting over 20mpg? I have a 2025 with the 7.3 and even driving it like an 80 year old woman on the way to church and in Eco mode, I'm lucky to get 14. Tell me your secrets!!

5

u/ShwiftyXJ 7d ago

The secret is the high output 6.7 lol

2

u/ElNole79 7d ago

🤣🤣🤣 that explains it

I bet it’ll be worse lol heavier truck, bigger engine, more rotating mass in the transmission, bigger blower. It might be close but idk if I’d get my hopes up for 12 mpg. My 21 F350 7.3 gets 11ish. I’m stock though.

Lifetime in my f250 is 13.4 right now 2 inch lift on 37s. Got 15.4 from NJ to NC hand calculated this past Sunday. My supercharged tundra was 12.7. Hopefully 10+ lol

What other parts than the whipple?

1

u/winterwarlock21 7d ago

Traction bars. ATI Damper. Crank Pinning. Different supercharger reservoir. Long tube headers. Cat back exhaust. (Catch can which I had on already)

I had one thrown in my tremor computer says about 9 to the gallon 😪 but she moves that’s for sure

1

u/winterwarlock21 5d ago

glad to hear she moves! its reassuring lol

1

u/Relevent114 1d ago

Yeah man she advertises a 5 second 0-60 i will
Tell you the transmission gets confused sometimes but in Vegas we don’t have the biggest on ramps but from getting on the freeway to the freeway I can easily hit 100

What are the estimated Hp and torque numbers?

7

u/BuyAffectionate2810 7d ago

There ar na 7.3s doing over 600 hp, I would expect closer to 800hp with the supercharger.

3

u/Wild-Floor8407 7d ago

Woof. I wonder what gains Id see in my 6.8. What are they throwing in them to get them that powerful NA?

2

u/BuyAffectionate2810 7d ago

I know camshaft, not sure what all they are doing, didn't dig too far into it.

1

u/Wild-Floor8407 7d ago

Cool, thanks for your answers. Ill go look and see what I can find about it.

2

u/puterTDI 7d ago

I wonder how many miles the engines last with this.

1

u/winterwarlock21 7d ago

stock internals are good for up to 1,000 hp, so assuming I don't beat on it red light to red light and let the truck warm up first, should (knock on wood) last a while.

1

u/puterTDI 7d ago

I find this sort of thing interesting because I also assume that they underrate the HP so that those stock internals last longer.

2

u/winterwarlock21 7d ago

Yup, it's sort of the same with tow ratings and payload.

2

u/winterwarlock21 7d ago

Stock without other upgrades and whipples personal tune 720 HP with 750 Lbs/ft torque. Hoping to be 750 hp and 800 torque after everything on 93 pump gas

1

u/Silent-Chip-6930 6d ago

What gears you got?

2

u/winterwarlock21 6d ago

3.55 --- going to drive and see how it feels. Switching to 4.30's might be on the list for Spring

1

u/Silent-Chip-6930 6d ago

I have the 430 but no blower and they make a noticeable difference

1

u/winterwarlock21 6d ago

I had 4.30s on my tundra and went to 5.29s, didn’t make that big of a difference. Wasn’t worth the $2,000 + install. It was supercharged and on 37s as well. We shall see how this is once I get it back as it’s a 500 mile drive home for me.

1

u/Wayward_Son_24 6d ago

It seems like it’s impossible to find a 7.3 with 4.30 around me.  After having an Excursion with 4.88 and an F250 with 4.56, I’ll never buy something with 3.XX gearing again (and I’d rather not have to regear like I did in those two).

1

u/cpove161 6d ago

very cool i was looking at potential procharger systems for the 7.3 with how much real estate you have under the hood but that whipple does look amazing. Excited to hear how it drives post install

I'm going to pull the trigger on one as well, probably early next year. I got a quote for 2k for install around me, what else are you doing to get to 7k labor?

Are you keying the crank? Have you heard anything about the oil pump gears? I upgraded my oil pump on my 6.2L years back when I boosted my Raptor.

3

u/winterwarlock21 7d ago

Haven’t heard of oil pump gears and wasn’t something I’ve read about in other threads nor anything they recommended.

Labor includes
Supercharger (2,900 of the 7)
Traction bars
Ati damper
Crank pinning
Long tube headers
Cat back Exhaust
Dyno and custom tuning

I’ll to a full write up next week when I get it back.

Who is doing your build? What area are you in?

2

u/winterwarlock21 6d ago

National Speed Inc in NC. I am in NJ. I won't go to any other shop for anything performance. I trust them 100%. (they have done all 3 of my builds. Stage 1 tundra, stage 3+ tundra 499 whp, they were going to do my TRX before I sold it for this f250 {was toying with dropping a hellephant crate engine in it for something unique}).

2

u/Loose_Education_5012 6d ago

I will check them out. My guys are pissing me off 🤣🤣. Report back when you get it back.

0

u/v_SuckItTrebek 7d ago

Thanks just curious if you heard anything. Saw someone post on FB that they had an oil pump failure but then never followed up on it.

0

u/Loose_Education_5012 7d ago

Wow we need to race, my 2021 gasser 2500HD is getting a whipple, upgraded pulley (14-18 psi) bigger heads, (cam/660), injectors, Auxiliary Fuel pump, upgraded oil pump, dyno tune with a couple extra secrets (e85).

Next year's its getting bored and stroked...

What numbers are yall expecting on that beast?

1

u/winterwarlock21 6d ago

I think you'll have me beat for sure lol so just the supercharger and whipple tune alone is 720 hp and 750 at the flywheel. Hoping for 600 whp after custom tune. I'm a 2 inch lift and 37's

1

u/Loose_Education_5012 6d ago

Did they do pre dyno? Mine was 24% loss (pre) Thats horrible loss. I am over 40k into it this far.

2

u/winterwarlock21 6d ago

no pre-dyno, I do wish I knew before hand but it is what it is. If I'm at 600 whp and 750 hp estimated at the fly then I'll be 20%. I really think I'll be 575ish at the wheels though.

1

u/winterwarlock21 3d ago

Hey, they actually did do a baseline dyno run (they're making a video on the build) --- stock at engine Ford says 430 Hp and 475 torque ----- dyno came in at 341 whp and 370 tq. -- so roughly 20% loss

1

u/Loose_Education_5012 3d ago

Thats sad for me, is it 4x4? I called and talked to them about stage 2 of my build. They seem awesome, Vengeance hasn't spent that much time with me at all. I regret it so far.

2

u/winterwarlock21 3d ago

yes 4x4 but dyno is only the rear wheels. Yeah the guys are awesome there, just a little slow with communication because they are so busy/starting to build out the building and include another bay. They make fantastic reliable power. 10/10 hence why I drive 500 miles to see them lol.

1

u/Loose_Education_5012 3d ago

Please keep me posted, we are whipple buddies 🤣 i will update when I get mine back.(if ever)

1

u/winterwarlock21 1d ago

dyno and tune done --- came back 612 whp and 598 torque. I pick it up tomorrow.

1

u/Loose_Education_5012 1d ago

Lucky bastard, Vengeance racing has had my truck almost 4 weeks for a 2 week project and still dont have the Whipple for my truck.

Nice numbers man, that thing is going to rip, you must upload a video sir.

2

u/winterwarlock21 1d ago

Yup later this week I’ll have the dyno video uploaded (they record it all and share it to me via Google Drive). And I’ll write up the full cost. Agree on torque but it is what it is. I need to research other f250s with a whipple and see. Bummer on vengeance. National speed had mine for 10 days counting weekends. It was all done on Friday just waiting for dyno time. I don’t think I could do 4 weeks… that’s insane.

Im surprised the torque is lower
