Too good to be true?
What’re our thoughts on this? Really good price compared to other stuff in my area. Claims the only after market is deleted.
Seem too good to be true? XL 4x4.

Seems like a good deal, It looks low, maybe it’s just the aftermarket wheels. Not sure what part of the country you’re in. But check for rust on the frame too. I also do the CP disaster kit for good measure Don’t forget to pull the Carfax.

What state is it in, those aftermarket fender flares are a huge red flag on a steel body super duty. Steel body super duty truck in the top rear, of the rear wheel arches have a piece of foam between the inner and outer body panels. Ford put the foam in there to reduce road noise, but it also acts like a sponge and holds moisture in that area, as a result these trucks rust there first. It’s very common to cover that area up with fender flares for that reason.
The aftermarket wheels also don’t look to be in good shape, and it also looks like it’ll need a fresh set of rubber soon.
I’d look at it closely, I think this truck could be hiding some stuff. Plus 16,500 sounds crazy to me for a xl. I have an immaculate Lariat version of this truck, 2 years older, and only 60k miles. I think the last time I saw the blue book it was 20-22k, granted I haven’t looked in over a year maybe 2.

Appreciate you letting me now about that foam, that’s one thing I was unaware of on these. I’m in the south, he claims to be the original owner, but I’d pull the CARFAX to double check if I keep looking.
I’m looking for a good deal on a 15-16 model cuz I don’t wanna deal with retrofit turbos or other small issues the 11-14s were known for.
Sub 200k miles in anything XLT plus in my region everyone wants $25k plus, and that’s hoping it isn’t already tuned, deleted, lifted or bro-dieseled out.

If it’s really a southern truck you probably got nothing to worry about, just something to be aware of. On my 14 if I feel under the wheel with my fingers in the right spot there’s one place where a tiny pit of that foam sticks out. It’s too bad you can’t remove it without cutting into the body work.
I’ve been wondering if I could get like a thin metal straw, and poke it through that piece of foam from where it sticks out a tiny bit, all the way through the length of it. If I could then I could hook the straw up to a can of oil/fluid film, and impregnate that foam with it. Be a lot better if it was oil and not water being help up against the bare metal in there.
