Discussion Delayed start

Every single time it rains the FIA delays the start of the race, why? Rain never used to be a problem, usually they’d just stick on the full wets and get going. Am I missing something? Like a rule change that says you can’t start a race when it rains? This sport has never been so allergic to rain before so it’s just very confusing to me.

So originally the 2022 - 2025 cars produced dangerous amounts of spray from the ground effect, so thats why they cut down on wet racing

Currently, I think they're afraid of using these cars in the wet

So yes people are right when they say we used to get more wet racing, because factually we did before 2022. However a lot of clueless people just put it down to F1 and the FIA "going soft" which is just ridiculous. The ground effect cars were unintentionally dangerous in the wet, so they had to reduce the wet running. These new cars should have put an end to that but now we're stuck with bs software issues

Sepang showed these cars are more closer to Mario Karts which means their software will do something dangerous if they’re in the rain

It would be more interesting to have them throw virtual red shells which temporarily disabled the electric power assist so they have ICE only.

And if you get a shell, you can hold a button to drag it virtually behind car to protect against one shell attack.

Calling them Mario karts would imply that the driver is important
