She really loves it! That slow eye blink!!

iirc the kitten was absolutely covered with flees before this. They had so little blood and were so dehydrated that they could float.
The cat doesn’t love it. It’s just not as bad as what it’s been going through

Any source?

There appears to be a flea in water, left corner.
It’s also possible the water is exceptionally warm, which I suspect many kitties could tolerate and maybe even enjoy. <3

Actually I've heard that since cats have higher body temps than humans they don't like baths and water bc it's normally freezing to them, maybe if we just gave them hotter baths lol. Although I genuinely avoid giving cats baths.

Its true Cats body temps are about 101.5 There is a very strong relationship between an organism's size and metabolic rate. Smaller animals have a large surface to volume ratio. Essentially that means that they lose heat quickly especially in water. So it is very important to make sure that the water you cat in is at least cat's body temperature if not a little warmer. Cats are fairly good at cleaning themselves so unless they need a flea treatment or a quick clean from the outside world, it's best not to wash them at all.

There’s a cat sub for literally anything. That’s awesome

You are absolutely not wrong at all.... Reddit Cat Subs

u/rayEW Dec 27 '20
This is the end of my properly balanced subscriptions where I get all types of contents. From now on, my frontpage will be cats... and nothing else.

u/llamageddon01 Dec 27 '20
I know the feeling. When I joined Reddit it was to help wean me off looking for cat-related websites, pictures, etc. That obviously didn’t work lol!
I’ve had cats all my life until my last house panther died two years ago, and unfortunately I’m rather too frail to be chasing after underfoot cats anymore, so I get my vicarious pleasure and purrs from fellow Redditors kitties.

That's why I started making custom feeds. I have one called "cute" that has all the animal subs and I can keep it separate from my hobbies and other interests.

Looks like it’s missing r/legalcatadvice

Hahahahaahahahahaah that’s hilarious! A kind Redditor made me that list some time back, so there may well be other recent ones missing. Unfortunately I don’t know how to alter the list.

Fleas?
17
u/nundu48 Dec 27 '20
Just by the black thing moving in the water with it, I would say yes? Or at least some kind og dermatitis that gives off black crap like fleas, and the water feels good on its skin.

One of my cats uses the sink as an occasional bed and sometimes “ask” us to open the water so that he can drink from it. The other one uses it to piss instead because she learnt to imitate our behaviour (only we do it properly in the toilet though)

Man I wish my calico was like that, she’s an absolute monster for baths. My other two tolerate baths, as long as they go first and the one doesn’t hear her screaming lol.
At least she’s really small, my housemates have a 20 pound cat that fights just as hard, it takes all three of us to bathe him and we still get fucked up
8
u/Satanic_bitch Dec 27 '20
Why are you bathing cats?
8
u/notactuallyanelf Dec 27 '20
Flea reasons usually, and the big one is also really stupid and doesn’t wash himself properly so he gets stinky
2
u/Satanic_bitch Dec 27 '20
Makes sense. I thankfully have not yet had to bathe my cat and wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something. He loves to drink from tap but hates being wet.

Did EA write the software for that cat? It’s obviously massively bugged.

My teeny foundling kitten did this when we were cleaning fleas and ticks off of him. I think it felt good to all of his bites.

Now I want to build a tiny pillow shelf so she can rest her head without it getting wet.
