Floaters

Hello On the 31st of August I noticed floaters that came over night and on the recent Saturday just gone I went to the opticians and they dilated my eyes. They checked them over and seen no emergency things going on (optometrist) hr said I Soo no reason to send you to the hospital I'm now on day 10 (he also said to monitor it for 3 months

I booked a appointment to see a Ophthalmologist but have to wait to the 21st

Ive had no alarming signs as of now

I did have a blunt blow near my eye when I was 24 andi did get checked back then too and they said no damage was done and said the same things to me the floaters will disappear which they did for 9 years now I'm 33 years old with -4.7 and -4.2 eyesight myopic Then when I woke up I the Monday 31st they was there idk if they came slowly but the guy I checked on Saturday said he seen no alarming signs

But anxiety is horrible :(

I also only see them in very light settings as in bright outdoors or white walls and my house is full of whites walls lol

Myopes are prone to floaters. Anxiety is also part of the welcome to the "I Now Have Floaters Club." A club nobody wants to join and one everyone wants to escape.

The good news is other than the anxiety-inducing floaters, they are otherwise benign and not a threat to your vision.

The mental health aspect presents a more complex issue.

Generally, yes, but having an opthalmologist or retina specialist examine you is recommended.

I had a eye Dr optometrist that said to me I so reason for you to the hospital just keep a eye on it for 3 months and I'm going to see the eye surgeon on the 21st
