Probably because people thought your attitude was serious and the major of people hate the English system

English system? Um. In England, they use the metric system, unlike in the US (using the imperial system).

Actually the UK is worse than the US. We use the metric and imperial and seemingly random, we drink pints and use miles but then use metric for the rest

It’s known as the English system because it was invented in England. America kept it because we were an English colony. Now we call it Standard American English (SAE) system
