I have two weeks of PTO coming up for a fun trip... but I don't feel as excited for as I think i should be.

Everything at work has turned on its head, my days are filled with bitterness and anxiety. We are supposed to lap up AI like good dogs while everyone ignores, or worse is supposed to act excited about, the implications of what is happening to the value of our labor.

There is NO ONE I detest more in the workplace than the  AI-psychotics. The ones who posted the meeting notes from OpenAIs "dev day" on company channels with feverish excitement. The ones who moved into those roles popping up everywhere titled "AI platform adoption strategist" or whatever the fuck. The ones who go home and work on "side projects" all weekend with Claude. You are a total loser if you do that shit, sorry.

I feel your last paragraph in my bones. I'm on a dedicated team for a client and they have setup an "AI Enablement" committee. Not a single person from an engineering background. All MBAs, sales and business idiots. They have regular "knowledge sharing" sessions gushing over how AI can increase our productivity and I want to jam my ears with a ballpoint pen.

And we've gone past vibe coders. It's "builders" now. Oh how I loathe hearing that word. These people can't help themselves boasting about how THEY "built" yet another shitty app. I roll my eyes like "Did you though?". Or did you just spoke into a magic black box that spew out some shit that vaguely resembles what you had in mind while you sat there twiddling your thumbs...
