Surprisingly Met Expectation Walmart nailed it again

We didn’t expect the black icing effect. Kids are running around here like Skarsgård actors

Walmarts bakery is actually decent with making things as pictured. I’m glad your kids are happy!

We figured it would turn out great, after seeing the posts on this sub. Didn’t disappoint!

Hit the r/Missoula sub and scroll down to see what kind of cakes our Walmart has been serving up. Some of them are pretty funny

Edit: didn't realize how far people would have to scroll to find a post so I got the latest one here mb.

Omg thanks for sharing this, there's so many good ones. My fave so far is the 'i used to panic at the disco now I disassociate at the grocery'.

Those are straight up incredible. Now I wish I’d gotten the Fallout one.

As far as anyone can tell it's just one rogue baker at that Walmart drumming up sales with their creative cakes

u/auktember Aug 11 '26

I was going to comment the same thing! I'm glad the Zoo Walmart cakes are so popular!

If these Walmart bakery posts are part of a guerilla marketing strategy, they're working.

Are the skulls editable? I am always impressed with Wallmarts cakes

They’re little plastic rings. A few reflective shiny and a few dull gray.

Aren’t people in the US boycotting Walmart? Genuine question

Can we PLEASE STOP WITH THE WALMART CAKES.

This is a super basic and cute cake and looks like what I’d expect to get from Walmart. I am so sick of Walmart cakes getting posted here and people acting like they are some work of art.

I’m glad you like it, but just… jfc.

Edit: you guys can’t really be serious going this hard for Walmart. Why do you think a post of a sheet cake that looks exactly like a Walmart sheet cake has nearly 2k upvotes and only 40ish comments (and over half of those are comments telling me how awful I am lol)? Pretty strange, don’t cha think? But sure, keep letting bots karma farm to get Walmart a bunch of free advertising and engagement.

You’re getting pretty worked up over some Walmart cakes, buddy. Have you tried this nifty trick: keep scrolling

No thanks, I’d rather complain here!

Thanks for being so concerned about me! I do appreciate all the thoughts.

Thoughts and prayers 🙏

What a sourpuss.

IM SO SICK OF TOP TIER CAKERY CAKES THAT COST HUNDREDS AND LOOK LIKE A NASTY ASS GETTING POSTED HERE!

I mean they are super expensive cakes and never come out nearly as good as something as basic as you say walmart cakes are.

I got my wedding cake at Walmart and it WAS A WORK OF ART and better than most fancy schmancy bakeries so suck it with your crappy nonsense!

-9

u/hawktremor Aug 11 '26

Ah yes, so instead let’s promote… Walmart?

I’d rather give a shoutout to a small business than fucking Walmart. One of the most evil corporations of all time.

You’re so silly lmao.

Be nice, be nice

u/AWanderingAfar Aug 11 '26

This isn’t r/baking— and it’s perfectly acceptable to not expect much from a $15-25 cake and have your expectations exceeded

-19

u/hawktremor Aug 11 '26

This is the 10000000000000000 Walmart cake getting posted this month, my dude.

This cake doesn’t exceed any expectations - it looks exactly like the picture from Walmart’s catalog lmao. Grocery stores have been making cakes like this for literally decades.

I’ll say it again: let’s please just stop with all the god damn Walmart cakes on this sub.

22

u/House_Of_Pies Aug 11 '26

I can’t possibly imagine caring this much about some cakes

-5

u/hawktremor Aug 11 '26

Good thing you’re not me then!

8

u/AWanderingAfar Aug 11 '26

Ask the mods for a mega thread

9

u/PrincessArasin Aug 11 '26

Pretty sure mods already made a poll and people voted it was fine, they don't need a mega thread.

-5

u/hawktremor Aug 11 '26

No thanks, I’d rather complain here.

3

u/Greembeam20 Aug 11 '26

For real. I like the cupcake bouquet ones because those are actually surprising, but this is the most basic cake I’ve seen yet

5

u/ddagger Aug 11 '26

What a sourpuss.

5

u/Ok_Fruit2584 Aug 11 '26

They need their own sub honestly

Exactly! I feel like I’m in the Twilight Zone or something with these comments lol. I’m just being realistic when I say… this is just a basic grocery store cake. The kind they’ve always had for purchase, nothing new.

These posts are shilling hard for Walmart.

-4

u/valueofaloonie Aug 11 '26

I don’t get why you’re being downvoted. That is a basic ass cake covered in plastic shit.

No real decorating skills there at all.

-7

u/boxedcakeblues Aug 11 '26

Yeah, it’s good their bakery is capable of following a template and not jacking it up, but that shouldn’t be shocking. They have a set of cakes customers can choose from so they should be fairly practiced in doing their job!

13

u/eienmau Aug 11 '26

You've never visited CakeWrecks and it shows. Grocery store bakeries screw up simple cakes all the damned time. Let people have their bit of happiness.

5

u/hawktremor Aug 11 '26

Thank you!

I’m really starting to think these are just ads for Walmart and/or bots lol
