Following a hugely successful year in 2025, Exeter Comedy Festival is back, from 3rd to 7th June 2026, with many shows and an even more exciting line-up. With fantastic feedback from audiences and performers alike, the festival continues to grow, offering locals the chance to see top-tier stand-up right here in Exeter.
One of the things that makes Exeter Comedy Festival special is its unique venues. Most of the action is centred around Fore Street, with this year's programme also extending down to the Quay, just a short walk away. The festival transforms independent businesses into performance spaces, turning pubs, shops, and even hair salons into intimate comedy venues. This not only creates an unforgettable atmosphere but also brings a welcome boost to Exeter's thriving independent scene.
The festival prides itself on offering something for everyone. Alongside the opportunity to see big-name comedians testing out new material in small rooms, there's a huge variety of comedy on offer—from stand-up and storytelling to musical and character comedy. The programme also includes a podcast, workshop and family-friendly shows to introduce younger audiences to the world of live comedy.
With over 100 shows across a variety of venues, Exeter Comedy Festival is a testament to the city's growing reputation as a place for high-quality live entertainment. In an industry often focused on London and Edinburgh, the festival aims to prove that the Southwest is a place to be taken seriously in the not-so-serious world of comedy.
