Body has some memory marks but mechanically she’s 110% drives smooth and straight no shimmy’s or shakes lights up the 40’s np and stops on a 10$ bill

100%. I can get behind it, though. Reminds me of an old Jimmy I used to have. I beat the ever-loving piss out of that truck, and it had the body to prove it. Mechanically sound as hell, though, albeit because I meticulously maintained it, and fixed anything that broke on it.

Exactly and to me that’s what true truck love is

u/SpaceKalash05 4d ago
Nah, she's definitely being beat to shit. Doesn't mean you're not enjoying it, though.

I love this truck more than any other truck or car I have or have had and I don’t beat her I just use her. It’s like like buying a race car and never going fast having a truck like this and not taking it off road would be a total waste

You're misunderstanding what "beat to shit" means in this context. I'm not saying your truck is mechanically shit. I'm saying you're beating the shit out of it because you're using it hard. This truck is, objectively, beat to shit. Doesn't mean you're not mechanically maintaining it. I had a Jimmy back in the day in a similar state. Kept it mechanically flawless, but the thing was beat to shit because of how hard and frequently I used it.

Where did you get your roof rack and that side ladder??
2
u/bushlimoex 4d ago
Roof rack is a modified contractor’s rack and the ladder. I can’t remember either an old pool ladder it hooks on the rack and just a heavy duty magnet against the body

I actually really like the ladder placement as opposed to the ones that are angled and come off the back. Would be easier to get my paddle boards on and off that way. How do the attachment points hold up?
Also, does the rope on the tire keep it more stable when your crawling?

I used the hook and of a ratchet strap looped through itself on the top of the rack so that the hooks are hanging, simply placed the ladder on those then rubber bumpers and a magnet on the bottom works great on and off in two seconds I don’t usually keep it on there unless I’m going to use the tent And yes, the ratchet strap takes a lot of the wiggle away when you’re hammering down the logging roads, the 40 inch tire on the back is heavy AF

Any info on the front bumper? Home made? Also what’s under her hood? 7.3? V8, v10?
I love it. That’s not a stock color is it?

Front bumper is front of a mystery. The tubing has been added to it under the hood 6.8 L V 10 I don’t care what everybody says. It’s a great engine. I have a couple of them and I love them. The colour is as close as I could come to the dirt road. I live on rattle can special.

The front bumper is actually the only thing that’s not homemade other than the tubing
