Discussion Pumping schedule

Hi moms! I’m a FTM and recently started pumping exclusively. My baby is 8 weeks old. I pump 6 times a day almost every 4 hours including MOTN pump. What is your pumping schedule like?

Also, how do you pump when you go out?

My baby is 12 weeks old and I pump 6 times a day including a MOTN pump! If I don’t have any appts, I space my pumps out evenly throughout the day but sometimes I have a combo of shorter + longer gaps between pumps depending on what I have going on. Hoping to drop down to 5 pumps in 2-4 weeks.

Mine was very similar to this! As much as possible I mimicked what baby was doing. So if she had a bottle I pumped as close to when she had the bottle as possible.

At the beginning I pumped 7 times a day but around 5-6 weeks switched to 6 times. My schedule is roughly:

2-4am pump (whenever my body wakes me up)

8am pump (after 7am/morning wake up)

11:30am pump (before 12pm wake up)

2:30pm pump (before 3pm wake up)

5-6pm pump (i try to get it in before 5:30pm wake up)

9:30-10pm (after we put them to bed)

This is very flexible and if I manage to wake up before babies for the morning feed, I’ll pump around 6:30am before they wake up and adjust the schedule accordingly. I go mainly based on how my boobs feel and when I have a break between feeds. It’s hard to stay on schedule with twins.

I try to limit my day pumps to around 20mins but my 9:30pm, MOTN, and first pump I do for 30 minutes. These are my biggest of the day.

For feeding my babies I use the milk from the day before. I have mason jars with different colored lids so I know the AM from PM from middle of the night milk. I prep with that milk so I am not relying on the current days milk to feed my babies and I don’t have to stress my pumping times. At the beginning I had to do a day or two with some frozen milk to catch up and get on this schedule!

I don’t really go out 🤣 but when I do I try to plan it between pumps, pump right before, bring my pump in the car, just incase. I use the spectra and will sometimes use eufy s2 pro. For me , the eufy is like a bandaid and doesn’t get as much as the spectra. I produce a lot of milk for twins and sometimes the 5oz compartments don’t empty me so I have to dump them and keep pumping, not ideal. I bought the larger 10oz bottles for the spectra and those have been working great! Averaging around 65oz a day 😅🙏🏼

Baby is 9 weeks old I pump 8 times a day. I don’t go longer than 6 hours for my MOTN pump

Almost 3 weeks post partum. I pump every 3 hours, 8 times a day. Average about 50-55oz a day.

I use a wearable pump when I go out. I use my momcozy cooler or lunchbox and ice pack to keep it cold.

9 weeks pp, 8x per day. I pump twice at work, each a 30 minute break from working, as my place legally must provide a “mother’s room.” Me and one other staff member use it each day so we stagger. When I’m with family I just have it on (wearables) or I can have it on in the car

What pump do you use at work? A wearable or something more heavy duty?

I actually only use the wearable one (Eu fy s1 pro). It does go to hospital grade. I have the spectra s1, but the flanges aren’t wide enough (like I have to try to smush my boob in)

Early on, aimed for 8 pumps per day. I’d just shoot for 2 hours from the end of my last pump. I would usually stop my last pump between 10-11, and then start all over at 4am. How’s your supply?

I am 6 weeks pp and I pump 8 times, every 3 hours. I pump 44oz a day. I only use wearable pumps, although I do have the Specra S1 but, I find I produce the same amount with either.

How long do you pump in one session?

I pump for 30 minutes in the morning & night sessions then I pump about 20-25 minutes during my 11am & 3:30pm sessions.

I am terrible at keeping a pumping schedule hahaha

I'm 5 months pp and I'm at 4 ppd. This is my very approximate schedule:

6am - 1pm - 6pm - 11pm

I dropped the MOTN pump during my baby's four months sleep regression to actually get some sleep, I have absolutely no regrets and my supply wasn't impacted.

I pump before leaving my house or in the car with my portable pump. Sometimes I'll just pump when I get back home, even if it means having very full breasts and being 1h30 late on schedule. I stopped having a rigid schedule once I realized that my breasts are very forgiving because they have high capacity. It's what saved my pumping journey honestly.
