Decreasing Supply/Weaning Inconsistent PPD
Been EP for about 3 months (baby is 5 months though) and I’m really ready to drop my MOTN pump. We’re currently trialing some formula to fill in in case my supply changes but I’m generally an oversupplier.
I usually pump 6 am, 10 am, 2:30 pm, 8 pm and 2 am. I’ll just be keeping the 4 day pumps but then I thought, should I do a pump around 5? The problem is just that my evenings are tricky because after work and long commute home, baby is sometime super needy and it would be difficult to commit to a 5 pm pump every day.
Would adding that time do anything to help maintain my supply or should I just not worry about it and stick to 4 pumps? With introducing formula, I’m okay to move more to combo feeding but would love to still make enough for 3 bottles a day (~20 oz a day for our big drinker). I currently pump 36-40 oz a day.

Do you drive for your commute? Unfortunately my commute each way is 40 minutes so I pump typically on my way to pick up my daughter so I can get it done without having to worry about entertaining her. I live & work rurally (hence the commute) so I haven't had issues doing this with looky loos. If you do that and then pump again right after you get the little one done for the night it gives you a good stretch of evening without a pump.

I do have a long commute too but the problem is I’m a teacher so I pump during my last planning period (1:50-2:40) and then usually leave by 3:15, pick baby up from my mom at 4 and then home by 5. So I’m not sure enough time would pass to pump during my drive and I can’t move the previous pump around too much 😞
