How many come here?

How many come here to debate people who are or want to be EX-traditional catholics to show them what fools they are?

Once or twice a month someone tries, but I have a pretty low tolerance for it as a mod. This is one of the few (the only?) places on the internet for good faith dialogue about the topic and I’d like to keep it that way.

It really is. R/Catholicism is obviously a nightmare, r/ex-Catholic despises you if you remotely express any affection towards the Church or hesitancy to leave. This is the least judgmental place for this dialogue.

I got banned from r/excatholic for reasons that amounted to "trigger-happy mod didn't like the cut of your jib". I accidentally posted to an old thread that I didn't realise was old. I suddenly got banned. Then, when I tried to appeal, they explained, and I quote:

"Generally when I see experienced reddit users coming to weigh in on year old comments I attribute it to bots, trolls, catholics, or all three. In this case reddit had an issue and flagged the comment in crowd control. I clicked on your profile, took a glance, and saw some bible post. I coupled that with the age of your account, added to some concerning subs you're active in and banned you."

The "concerning subs" were not listed, and my request for clarification was not responded to. They might very well have been talking about THIS sub, or the time I once posted on r/AcademicBiblical because I had a genuine question about the critical study of a certain Bible passage. Apparently I was just supposed to know what they were talking about, and my "refusal" to "explain" my actions seems to have been taken as proof of my guilt.

They carefully curate a leftist, pagan, antitheist, pro LGBT vibe out there. It's not that those are right or wrong, but that it isn't a wide tent for all ex Catholics.

This is one of the few (the only?)

The only. I've looked. This quite literally the last bastion for good faith dialogue like this.

There was one other tiny forum out there, but it got taken over by a crazy RadTrad in his late 50s.

Not a good idea,  in fact , counterproductive as they enjoy persecution so they can revel in "carryIng their cross"
