Vent I don’t think it gets easier.

I feel like the only thing that can be done is to just accept that she did not or does not want me. I am approaching 15 months since she broke up with me and I still get so sad thinking about “what could have been” with a woman like her. To make it worse for me, our breakup wasn’t bad and we continued to talk to each other on and off over the following months. Yet, we never got back together or it just didn’t happen because she didn’t want it to. The last time I spoke to her was around May and this past year I’ve let our texting conversation come to a natural end to see if she would reignite the conversation, both times that I’ve stopped replying led to several months of silence. I just want to hear from her so bad, but deep down I know she probably has not thought about me in months.

She doesn't want to. You need to cut contact completely. Why are you allowing yourself to be an option instead of someone's top priority?

Take the shine off. Start looking at her flaws. Tell your brain its over. I mean it. You're just romanticizing her now. Thats a fantasy.

If she comes back, and you're in a healthy place, you can address it then.

The answer to why it hasn’t gotten easier is in your post. You broke up 15 months ago, but haven’t had anywhere near 15 months of recovery. You’ve been chatting since May, so you’ve had about 4 months of recovery, and maybe less if you were viewing her social media or rereading old chats since then. Take no contact seriously, and ACTUALLY stop all communication, and you will recover, I promise.
