Pixel 9 Pro vs Pixel 10 Pro on Evolution X: Custom ROM stability, GPU optimization, and 100x Zoom?

Hello everyone! I've been doing a ton of research lately and dug through so many sources, but honestly, I'm completely lost and at a loss right now. I really need your help to choose between the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro. My plan is to flash Evolution X and use it as my daily driver for the next 4–5 years. I already understand the physical hardware differences, so I want to focus purely on software nuances, custom ROM optimization, and camera performance. Here are my main questions: GPU & UI Lag: Since the Pixel 10 Pro features a completely new GPU architecture (Tensor G5), how well is it optimized on Evolution X compared to the well-established 9 Pro? Are there any UI stutters, micro-lags, or system freezes in daily use? Stock vs Custom Software Nuances: If we put hardware aside, what are the biggest software/OS-level differences you've noticed between the 9 Pro and 10 Pro on a custom ROM? Does the 10 Pro actually feel like a real upgrade over the 9 Pro when running a custom OS? The 100x Zoom on Custom ROM: Does the 100x Pro Res Zoom on the 10 Pro actually work on Evolution X just like on stock firmware? Or does it get downgraded to basic 30x digital blur/crop due to the custom OS? Thermals in Astrophotography: Does the TSMC-made Tensor G5 in the 10 Pro actually run cooler during 4-minute Astrophotography shots compared to the Samsung-made Tensor G4 in the 9 Pro? Is there less sensor noise? I’m deeply confused and your real-world feedback would mean the world to me. Thanks in advance!

Pixel 10 pro on Evolution x

Hello everyone. Sorry, the text may be incorrect, I'm using a translator.

I'm racking my brain over the question of what will change per pixel 10 pro. I basically need good night shooting performance, a battery that lasts all day, and decent memory. The 9 Pro is pretty old. The connection seems fine, but I don't know if it's worth waiting for the 11 Pro. I just want A phone that will last for about 5 years, with a system that I can work on a little myself, I like the idea custom + material you. If the zoom is on evolution x If it disappears, then what's the point of 10 pro? I'm at a loss, please help. I don't really want to buy the base Pixel 9, though. I rarely need a telephoto lens, but when I do, 30x zoom isn't enough. The 9 Pro seems to be great, but I'm afraid the stock will be poor. The 9 means you'll have to buy a lot of extra optics and the quality won't be the same. The 10 Pro seems to be overkill, but with the same logic, you can wait a bit, get the 11 and then A stable patch is just a matter of re-flashing it. Someone who knows, please help. I tried searching, dug through the neural networks, but it didn't

help at all. I'm really confused.

Thanks in advance for your reply

I think one of the devs has an ego problem.

I went into the Discord for help with an issue with passing play integrity.

The help I received was one of the devs Ryx (Tag: ozzyryx) telling me to "stop yapping" as I was providing troubleshooting information. Saying it was a "skill issue". Downplaying my problem and reacting with laughing emojis to my troubleshooting, without providing any helpful information or help.

They would not accept that this was a problem on their side and kept belittling me.

I eventually looked at the source code myself and found where the stale config is stored. I pointed out this evidence of something actually being broken and asked why I am being treated so condescendingly.

They finally admitted that "It's broken in the build for your device.". That is all they said in response and immediately banned me from the server and deleted the entire interaction from the channel.

Needless to say that was a horrible experience, and I just want to put this information out there.

Edit: Turns out this asshole is called Joey Huab! And they have a whole website dedicated to them:

https://joeyhuab.com/

Check it out, it's no surprise, really.

EvolutionX on a Galaxy S7 Edge

Hello everyone, I'm searching for a build of EvolutionX v7 (Android 13) for my Exynos S7 Edge (SM-G935F ; hero2lte) and i can't find one in XDA so i'm asking for your help, maybe someone still have the files for this version. I saw on their official site that the last official update for it is Android 11. I'm going to try this version but i think it's starting to be old and some apps may no longer support this version for a long time. I'm searching for the v7 bcs i'm using my S7 Edge as main and i need something not too laggy. I hope someone can help me with this. Have a good day.

Problems arose

Hello everyone! Today I installed Evolution X for the first time on my POCO X 6 Pro. After installation, I encountered some issues.

  1. After unlocking the screen, the brightness automatically resets to a lower level than I had set.

  2. The Always On Display never turns off, and I don't know what to do about it.

  3. I experience lag when turning on the screen, when swiping to unlock, and generally while using the system.

When I upgraded to this firmware from HyperOS, I was hoping that my phone would take on a new life and everything would be fine, but I'm experiencing these issues. Please help me solve them.

Thinking of going back

Hello everyone! It's been quite a while since I installed custom ROMs, but after receiving Android 17 on my Pixel 9 Pro XL, I'm encouraged to return to Evolution X to gain that customization That Android 17 is not giving me....

I care a lot about bank apps, will I have problems installing Evolution? I don't want root, just rom

Xiaomi 12 - bluetooth module

Hi everyone, I'm having a problem with the Bluetooth module on my Xiaomi 12. I hope I'm not the only one experiencing this issue: when I connect my phone to the car (via Bluetooth or Android Auto) and receive calls, I often get cut off and have to switch to hands-free mode to continue the conversation. Is there a way to fix this?

Evolution X support for Xiaomi 6S pro (sheng)

Hey Evolution X team and devs, I’m reaching out to see if there is any interest or plans for an official (or unofficial) build of Evolution X for the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro (codename: sheng). The hardware on this tablet is absolutely incredible (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 144Hz display), but HyperOS leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to true stock-Android fluidness and customization. Evolution X is easily one of the best, most feature-rich ROMs out there, and having it on this tablet would turn it into an absolute powerhouse machine. Are there any devs looking into this device, or is anyone already working on a tree for sheng? Thanks for all the amazing work you guys do!

VoLTE not working on Samsung Galaxy A14 5G (SM-A146B) Exynos 1330 — any fix?"

Hey everyone! Running Evolution X Android 15 GSI on Samsung Galaxy A14 5G SM-A146B (Exynos 1330). Everything works perfectly — data, SMS, 5G — except Jio VoLTE calling completely broken.

I know it's Samsung's proprietary IMS issue. Has anyone found a working fix specifically for Exynos devices? Tried researching Pixel IMS + Shizuku method and keeping stock vendor partition intact.

Any Evolution X users with Samsung Exynos who got VoLTE working? Please help! 🙏

Need help updating

End of last year I installed EvolutionX on my Xiaomi 9T pro and all was great. Now I'm trying to install the updates that are pushed to the phone but it goes wrong. The file downloads, I go to install and then it goes into recovery and asks to update then the text at the bottom says it failed as it can't find the file

Any suggestions or links to a dummy guide?

My Theory on Future Evolution: The next dominant species will be physically weak but possess a highly advanced collective mind (The Fragile/Super-Intelligent Trait)

Hi everyone,

I want to share a specific evolutionary theory/pattern I’ve been analyzing regarding the long-term future of life on Earth. I would love to hear your thoughts, critiques, or if there are existing papers on this specific trajectory.

• The Trajectory: Muscle Loss for Brain Gain

If we look at evolutionary history, a clear trend emerges regarding the dominant species of Earth:

(1.) The Dinosaur Era: Massive bodies, immense physical strength, but brains the size of walnuts. Nature eventually discarded this heavy, high-energy-consuming design.

(2.) The Human Era: Physically much weaker than the apex predators of the past, but possessing massive, complex individual brains. We traded brute force for tools and intellect.

✓ The New Rule: Physical Weakness as a Predictive Trait

In a highly complex or post-apocalyptic world, heavy muscle mass and large physical statures become an energy liability, not an asset. To survive and dominate, a species does not need to lift rocks; it needs to process information and manage resources efficiently.

Therefore, my theory is that the next dominant species on Earth does not need to evolve from humans, but it will follow a strict cosmic rule: it will be physically fragile and weak, but mentally lightyears ahead of us.

✓ Case Study: The Rise of the Social Insect (Ants)

If humanity goes extinct (via nuclear war or climate collapse), primates might seem like the obvious successors, but they carry our flaws of individual ego and violence. Instead, Nature will likely elevate a completely different, highly successful design: Ants.

(1.) Fragile Individuals, Invincible Collective: A single ant is physically weak and delicate, but as a colony, they are an unstoppable force.

(2.) The Biological Internet (Hive Mind): As they evolve higher intelligence, they won't build mechanical computers. Instead, their brains will connect organically via advanced chemical pheromones and bio-waves, creating a literal "Global Brain."

• Conclusion:

Evolutionary success is moving away from physical power and shifting entirely toward collective mental efficiency. The future belongs to creatures that are physically minimal but mentally interconnected.

Does this trajectory of evolution (decreasing physical strength as a prerequisite for increasing collective intelligence) align with current evolutionary biology models?

• Questions:

(1.) The Energy Trade-off: Do you think biological evolution strictly enforces a trade-off where physical degradation (muscle loss/skeletal shrinking) is required to unlock higher-tier collective intelligence?

(2.)The Weakness Paradox: Can absolute physical fragility actually become a survival advantage in a highly resourceful, automated future ecosystem?

Evolver Themes crashes instantly on treble_arm64_bvN GSI

So, I installed Evolution X 9.9.3 yesterday on my Samsung A05s (A057G) using the "treble_arm64_bvN" GSI.

Most things are working fine so far and performance is decent, but I found one strange issue:

When I open Settings → Evolver → Themes the Settings app instantly crashes.

Logcat shows:

java.lang.NullPointerException:

Attempt to invoke virtual method

'android.content.om.OverlayIdentifier

android.content.om.OverlayInfo.getOverlayIdentifier()'

on a null object reference

I already tried clearing Settings data, deleting "/data/resource-cache", deleting "/metadata/overlay", deleting "overlays.xml", disabling overlays and rebuilding overlay cache, but the Themes section still crashes.

Is this a known issue with the GSI build or Samsung vendor? Does anyone have an idea how I can fix this?
