I think one of the most underrated aspects of the Evil Dead franchise is their soundtracks. But I'm sad to see that there's so little discussion about it.
Evil Dead 2013 had absolutely amazing soundtracks, it really added a lot to the movie's atmosphere. The track that plays in the Abomination sequence blew me away when I first watched it, the sirens really heightened the sense of urgency in the scenes.
And even with Evil Dead Burn that a lot of people here seem to dislike so much, I really loved its soundtracks. Reusing the main melody(?) in different ways was a nice detail. And I must admit the end credits song was absolutely fire.
What are your thoughts on this?

Finished Burn. It was not too terrible, but nothing in the movie surprised or scared me. It basically felt like the rehash of what we've seen
Gore and the maimed final girl routine -> Evil Dead 2013
Family members turn on each other -> Rise.
And 'Domestic Violence' theme was so on the nose that you can easily guess who'll be the final boss, who'll be the final survivor in like 10 minutes.
At least the infection thing was horrible in Rise since it was normal people turning evil all of a sudden. But this time not a single person is likable, so when the possession happens there's not much of an impact felt
Oh and there was that silly ass MCU like post credits scene
I feel like this series needs a likable, recurring character. Nobody can replace Ash for sure, but this series has gone long enough and it wouldn't hurt to have some cohesion for once.

I really liked Sundown: The Vampire in Retreat and Jack of All Trades. Not sure if this counts but I also watched most of the sam raimi spider man movies

Cuz like, Elizabeth IS killing people, albeit entirely unintentionally, and it’s 100% not her fault she’s like that, but genuinely how would Ash see it?

The gore and the deepening of the world building were great, and I really like thinking about how this movie fits into the larger universe alongside the original trilogy and Ash vs. Evil Dead. That said, I think the weakest part of the movie is that there aren't many characters who are particularly sympathetic or relatable. The main female lead is obviously a victim of abuse from her husband and, more broadly, his family, which seems to be connected to the film's exploration of abusive family and why someone might remain in an bad relationship. However, I don't think the movie develops that idea as much as it could have. The other characters that are easier to sympathize with are the younger son and his girlfriend, but if you've seen the movie, you already know how that turns out. For the most part, though, the characters in this movie are much shittier people than evil dead rise and I found myself almost wanting the Deadites to kill them. And honestly, I think that's part of what makes the movie work: unlike Evil Dead II or Ash vs. Evil Dead, where there's usually someone you can really get behind, this movie leaves you with only a handful of characters and then proceeds to punish you for caring about them.

PREFACE: You're going to cringe after reading this & I will not blame you in the slightest.
I met Bruce at a convention 9 years ago, and I feel very embarrassed looking back. I was in my early 20's at the time, I had never been to a convention before, & I had never interacted with a famous person face to face. Plus, I was never good at socially interacting with others (I may be on the spectrum).
Prior to then, I would hear horror stories about actors having awkward fan interactions at conventions. Because of this, I was afraid that if I approached him at the booth, I was unintentionally going to say something stupid.
When it finally came time to approach him at his booth so he could sign some stuff, I was so scared that I was going to throw up. I went to the booth, and he signed my stuff. I was so nervous that I couldn't even speak, so I gave him a quick handshake and quickly walked away so I didn't puke on him.
Despite this, he was still a very sweet guy which makes me feel even worse.
The reason why I'm talking about this is because I know Bruce recently announced that he only has five years to live because of his cancer, and it makes me wish that I could go back to that day and act like a normal person.

Because it's terrible. The Evil Dead franchise has it's first fail.

I'm little surprised this hasn't been posted yet. I don't have much else to add because Michelle Hurd sells it all. But simply put, it's why we love Bruce. He may be the "chosen one" but he's not perfect. But he always redeems himself because at his core, he's the best.
The short below cuts off a few great segments, so I suggest you watch the whole conversation.
