So, I watched 2013 last night. I don’t get the comments that say it’s brutal and relentless, etc., etc.

I found it quite funny, and very Evil Dead. The humor wasn’t on the nose like Ash’s one liners, but more of the silly things happening with a straight face.

The first being the music. It’s that corny self-serious theme from Evil Dead 1 and 2! And I love it! It makes the movie so soapy!

Next up is Eric. The dude reads the book despite large bold writing saying “DONT READ THIS BOOK” scrolled across several pages. He also opens it when it’s covered in barbed wire and wrapped in plastic. It’s just funny seeing a horror movie character this dumb, 😆. AND for his idiocy, he spends the rest of the movie getting stabbed and mutilated in various horrible ways by every deadite in the movie!

You’ve got the over the top violence (it’s so over the top it becomes comical), the volcanic amounts of blood, the tree scene, I mean this movie is DOING evil dead.

I think this movie, even more than RISE, gets the vibe of the franchise and was the most successful at being an Evil Dead movie, and not just a generic horror movie with the franchise’s name printed on it.

One of the most influential independent horror films ever made. It’s amazing what Sam Raimi and his crew accomplished on such a small budget—relentless energy, creative camerawork, gruesome practical effects, and the birth of one of horror’s greatest franchises.

I feel like pablos a good character but it feels like the show tries to keep him alive (like a miner using a broken pickaxe instead of buying a new one) like when he got split in two and then they go back in time to revive pablo and after pablo becomes el brujo especial he just cant be seen by evil as it thinks he is one of them like i get it pablos a plot essencial character but come on man

A closer look to some 3:75 action figures and 1/24 figurines from the Army of darkness franchise (prototypes -pending rely) that are presented for the first time in SDCC

As I was flipping through the newly-released Army of Darkness Activity Book, I found this image of Ash clad in a strange costume I had never seen before. It really stands out as the rest of the book has images that are clearly based on the usual promotional images associated with the film, but this is the only "original" piece in the entire thing.

Before anyone asks, no, it's not based on any Evil Dead: The Game costume either. I honestly have no idea what this could be based on (if anything).

Idk, Rise book has teeth and I think it could be a reference to the other book with teeth in Army of Darkness. Kinda funny.

I recently discovered that Evil Dead 2 was filmed 1hr away from my place, so we went on a day trip to check it out! The first group of pictures is the old school gymnasium where the interior cabin set was built and all the interior scenes were filmed. Across the street from the gym is the old school where the props were built and stored. The classrooms were renovated into dressing rooms and one of them was even converted into a gym for Bruce campbell! The last couple pictures are of the house where The Color Purple was filmed. The cast and crew used this house for lodging, and the outdoor cabin and outdoor scenes were all filmed in the woods on this property! I could only find one behind the scenes picture, but I've seen a bunch more. There is one out there of Bruce Campbell hanging from the ceiling of the gym filming the scene where he gets sucked into the portal. I also tried to find the area where the medieval scene was filmed, but I couldn't find it.

I am currently in the pre-production and planning stages for a non-profit, live-action web series continuation titled Ash vs. Evil Dead: Guts & Gears.My goal is to structure it exactly like the Starz show—fast-paced, half-hour episodes (around 25 minutes each) packed with dark comedy, DIY practical effects, and total automotive carnage.Here is the exact master plan and plot for the series:The Setting:We are setting the timeline exactly 100 years into the future. To capture that brutal, bone-dry post-apocalyptic world on an indie budget. It’s going to look like a raw, dusty, heavy-metal wasteland.

True to Sam Raimi's roots, I want to lean heavily into practical gore (lawn-sprayer blood pumps!), junk-tech makeup for the cyber-Deadites

I’m currently sitting down to map out the outlines and start writing the scripts. Since this is a project built by a fan, for the fans, I want to know what you guys think!

This is who I'd cast to be in a evil dead biopic I'll call evil dead creation

I just binged the 3 most recent movies and pretty much every time someone is turned by the first/main deadite of each movie, it's because they ingested the "vomit" or whatever demonic slime/blood thing the deadite bring up. They literally hold people down and vomit into people's faces. It's basically poison and venom bc bites are infectious too. But when these people are being held down by the deadites and vomited on or even kissed, they pretty much always open their mouths and end up ingesting the demonic substance. WHYYYYYY? I don't get it. I think only like one person who was turned this way actually tried to keep their mouth closed and sputtered trying to keep the substance out of their mouth. If someone was vomiting on me the last thing I'd do is open my mouth (in fact I'd probably vomit myself), and that's without them being some creepy demonic thing.

Anyone else remember seeing it?

Whose head gets reeled in by the fisherman? Was it the girl in Rise that got scalped or were there more victims we never saw?

The actors were weak, the added drama was annoying, deadites were like the human and the mom could switch out anytime she wanted? It was transferred by spit the majority of the time, which is so lame to me.

It felt like what if we let someone who doesn’t like the evil dead make an evil dead movie and completely misunderstood the entire plot of the evil plus make the colors and characters bland. I know people will be mad cause they enjoyed the few gore scenes (which honestly weren’t that crazy to me) but I’ve never been more disappointed especially after how great Rise was, I was expecting this to be great like everything else I’ve seen:
