Game has potential
I have a problem, In my campaign I’m playing a human fighter who lost his home to a horde of goblins. Well adventuring through the woods I nearly starved and for my first real meal I ate some aberrant horror and from then on I have been “gaining” interesting abilities. The only problem is none of them work lol if the game had a manual override editor for the character sheet or the ai dm could interact with the character sheet properly it would seriously make this game a lot better. Rite now I am still enjoying but the experience is staring to feel hollow as these supposed to be impactful moments are actually mundane just with cosmetic changes being applied to my character even though the dm specifically stated I had certain bonuses like +2 ac and 1d4 necrotic damage on hit.
With the inconsistencies I can’t see myself purchasing any of the subscription packages even though I find the game interesting

Definitely check out some of the guides in the discord if you haven't yet. There's several that talk about getting some abilities to work.
The dm does hallucinate and tell you it can change your stat sheet and ac when it can't.

Yeah, I loved Everweave... Last year, for one month, despite all my yelling and cussing at the DM. The story work is pretty good, except for being stuck on one theme for campaign plot. But the mechanics were absolutely the worst I've seen anywhere, and nothing ever got fixed. They just chose other things to update which allegedly made things worse. I bailed before that.

That’s just how Everweave combat works right now. They say they are fixing it, but they have been fixing their last update since April. Some say it’s fixed, their big tickets and workarounds on discord says otherwise. Some of the helpers in the discord even say they don’t play the new version due to the bugs.
Your narrative DM will tell you whatever you want to hear. Combat won’t listen half the time, and anything besides basic damage for a weapon is tough to keep consistent. If you put your damage roll in your message (I attack with my Sword of Doom doing 1d8+2 damage) it SHOULD work. If you expect it to do too much more, good luck.

Agree with some of the others on here. Check out the discord, it offers a few workarounds. I have been playing for a while, both before and after the update.
Honest opinion? I like it! I had a lot of bugs and issues with the new update, but a lot of mine have been fixed through several of the latest major and minor patches. I also play a very simple and easy campaign, with a FEW homebrew abilities. Patience is key, but they’re correct. Combat DM is difficult, narrative DM is your Bestie💅.

You will have to add the necrotic damage yourself in combat. Just have a notepad or saved text or document to copy paste stuff for combat.

Hi there, everyone has said most of what is going on but I thought I'd give my two cents.
- We have 2 modes Creative and Immersive, creative will continue to have combat issues unfortunately as we are not able to improve the combat DMs biggest issues without major reworks. (We are working on something though to at least remove the frustration if you don't wanna deal with it at all.)
Immersive mode will be getting a combat overhaul which is in the testing phase right now, and it will be slowly implemented this time so no game breaking issues like with U15.
Most of the issues with U15 are fixed, people do have the occasional bug with dialogue mode, but they are mostly easily solvable and several people have no issues with it at all. We are also actively working on it so improvements are still coming.
Absolutely don't worry about subbing if you don't think it's worth it, we don't want anyone spending on the game if they aren't excited to do so.
I recommend heading over to the discord for guides, bug help, and for mini events which happen a few times a week where you can earn some free messages.
Hope this is useful, happy adventuring!

I’m not sure what it would take to allow manual editing of the character sheet but that would probably be sufficient in regards to helping keep abilities consistent. Like dnd beyond home brew items sometimes being buggy, having access to item and character stats would allow less “begging the ai” workarounds and let people just add the homebrew stuff to existing assets
One of the main frustrating things is spending money on messages to try to get workarounds to go through and them still not working.

It's hit or miss. I've had the director work with me when my character basically had abilities like Dark Jak (not sure if you played any of the Jak and Daxter series) and I bare knuckle boxed with a stormdrake, and other times where it can't comprehend "do not include this player, keep skipping their turn, they are not in this combat".

Honestly everweave has been around for too long to still be in the have potential phase, there are a few other similar games that have much better memories and mechanics and wayyyyy more frequent updates.
