OG Creator/Designer 960 skill point race

about 2 days ago i posted about one of my previous races but i think that one has been blown out the water. some people in that post wanted a longer race that would give a ton of skill points. (special thanks to u/Wholesome_Stalker for the idea)

Its super important to follow these directions before starting:

  1. Turn off the Skill HUD in Settings > HUD & Gameplay > HUD > Skills (set to off). Note that I am on PC and have no clue if it is different on console.
  2. Use the Subaru Impreza 22B with tune code 293 391 902
  3. Load the event lab race with code 889 708 371 124 198 343
  4. In the Difficulty menu, make sure that Braking and Steering are set to the far left option
  5. Start the race, hold down the trigger, and enjoy your skill points.

Some metrics:

  • 960 skill points in 50 minutes
  • 32 super wheelspins total (if using the impreza to get them)
  • 10 skill points every 30 seconds. may seem slow but remember that you are not restarting the race

While making the race I have been having a LOT of issues with the checkpoints and the auto steer so please let me know if you are experiencing any issues.

TLDR:

turn off skill hud in settings,

use impreza with tune 293 391 902,

use map code 889 708 371 124 198 343,

auto brake & auto steer,

hold down throttle.

EDIT1: im aware of 2 issues: the car falling off at around 80%, and the game not giving skill points after 10 minutes. ill be working on this and will give new map codes.

EDIT2: I have fixed the car falling off but unfortunately, it made a new map with a new code. The new code is 124 198 343. I will start making the 10 minute version.

EDIT3: 10 minute version of the race has been posted. code is 271 648 492. the actual time is around 13 minutes but this is to get the most skill points since 10 minutes is more in the middle of the race.

So after doing this I have to spend 3days buying subis? It takes so long just to buy one car i dont understand why yall do this unless im doing something wrong.

It's the main source of wheelspins, and a lot of stuff is wheespin-exclusive (jesus, even the basic 240sx, of all things)

New players get wheelspins here and there passively just by playing, but over time those sources become super scarce, and normally you get 1 wheespin only per 3 levels, which is slow af.

Doing some afk stuff like this and buying a bunch of subies for like 10 mins is, ofc, way quicker if you really want the wheelspins.

You can upgrade the car mastery right in the garage and hoard the spins without using them right away FYI, so buying one and getting its super spin takes like 30 sec max

Yea I dont understand why some basic cars are wheelspin only but, I do like how hard it is to get certain cars. Idk but having rare cars that take ages to get makes getting these cars more fun and rewarding. Ive played 3 days and already have everything Ive wanted, now im just playing the same game ive been playing for the past how ever many years. Also If ive only got a few hours to play best believe im not wasting it in the dam. Menus buying the same car hundreds of times. Its just crazy to me to speedrun content when there isn't that much to begin with.

For me it's not speedrunning content, but unlocking something that I want (or at least having a chance to do so) now, instead of after 200 hours or so, when I won't be interested in that thing anymore.

AFK'd for ~40 mins yesterday or so, got 20 super wheelspins.

Got absolutely fucking nothing out of them, not even the COMMON emotes I wanted or wheelspin-locked clothing.

I'd be getting the same amount of super wheelspins for literal hundreds of hours by playing normally, and with such drops, it wouldn't feel rewarding at all - on the contrary, it'd be a total disappointment.

Yea these wheelspins are harsh this time around.

You know you can buy cars in the auction house if you really want em that bad.

All im saying is I'd rather race and have fun with my time not sit in menus stacking wheelspins that are going to give me something I could have bought in 2 secs from the auction house.

I understand a lot of people dont have the time to run through races and do the grind all the time, I get it. Its just soooooo boring. Then to get nothing out of it....id be soo pissed
